I will go with straight. It would be a helluva feeling to just make ball after ball after ball. If only....

I wanted to say 14.1, but I realized I'd love to be the master of a game that everyone plays and can understand, so I went with 8-ball. I'd love to stroll into any place in the country and win every match at the only game 95% of the locals play.

Every pool game possesses it's own unique quality and appeal to all different kinds of people. I prefer nine-ball and ten-ball because of the mass appeal the games have and the excitement and drama they both create as the rack comes to an end. They also require all different types of shots and offensive and defensive plays. Both players usually get their fair share of chances, in a longer race, so the crowd isn't only seeing the skills of one player. I feel less satisfied when watching or playing and I win a game and balls still remain on the table. Of course you can argue the luck factor deciding who wins and loses in nine and ten-ball. I say, "If it comes down to luck, the player's playing are either real good at the game or playing them the wrong way."

theres a couple problems and answers.

most pure skill (and also the most testing yourself): straight pool

the most strategy (and really playing other people): one pocket

then, the most competition: 9/10 ball

Say I'm the best at rotation.. so what? Not that many people concentrate on it. but it requires more pure skills than 9 or 10 ball, but there is not as much competition so I probably wouldn't be the best at rotation. If I was the best at 10 ball, I may have more of a chance of being the best at rotation.

14.1

14.1. The game that allows you to keep your opponent in the chair the longest. Sustained time in the "zone". The smallest luck factor IMO.

I picked nine/ten ball. I prefer most of the other games to it, but I'd rather be a dead solid ball pocketer and learn the strategy of the other games later.

Having 300 pool videos but missing every other tough shot so that knowledge don't mean crap gets old after awhile.

If you could be only 1...

I ran 4 racks in 9 Ball not to long ago. I have trouble running 30 balls in straight pool (I did run 70 about 20 years ago). I just can't keep my focus in straight pool.

I once asked by wife if she thought I had A.D.D. when I was a kid. She said what are you talking about you still do!!!

i think if u were the best in the world at rotation you could probably beat the best 9-10 ball players....maybe they should go together

also, the only games I haven't seen played PERFECTLY are one pocket, rotation, and banks. That is, perfect positioning, shotmaking, and runs for several racks. I like one pocket because you really play against your opponent there, while other games it is more playing against yourself. Your opponent gets better, the game gets harder, more than the other games.

Being a girl, I would have to go with one pocket. I could go on the road, get ridiculous spots from everyone and make bank!

Easy one - Rotation

Rotation - because the best rotation player every is the best pool player ever. Once you solved rotation whitey is plenty good enough to play all the games great.
