If You Had a Choice

Lets say two tournaments are being held in the same city, same date and time, both with $50 entry fees, and $5,000 added to each tournament. Both tournaments have the same amount of players entered. You have to choose between which one to play since they are both at the same time. One of them has the regular Texas Express rules, with jump cues allowed. The other one has the old two push-out rule, no jump cues allowed, and you have to call your safeties. Which one would you play?

The one with fewer good players......so I can win......I don't care what the rules are!:)...Gerry

If you find out where there's a $5,000-added event with the two-shot/push-out rules, please let us know here on this forum. I haven't seen an event with those rules since the Trump's Marina 10-ball Championship in Atlantic City, held several years ago, and even then the rules were somewhat modified.

Personally, from attending various events on the regional tournament trail, we usually go for the tour which is run on a level playing field, where all players are treated equal, and, of course, the closest to our home base.

In today's pool world, there seems to be a pool happening every single week and weekend. It doesn't make good sense to travel a long distance or attend a multiple-day event, for instance, if the payouts are not commensurate with the expenditures. Sometimes a player MUST come in third place to even break even on the expenses.

Fortunately, there are a variety of regional tours which, in my opinion, give the biggest bang for the buck to aspiring players, veterans, and, quite frankly, players of all caliber. :)

JMHO, FWIW! :p

Yea, what she said!........if they bring back roll out, I'm gonna have to call the older guys from back in the day that used to trap me with that game!!!, and ask them how to play it right!:).......Gerry

Eat at that Seafood Place across the street from where you play and
about 3-5 blocks west. You'll like it. Good prices on T-Shirts down there.
Go feed the birds on the beach, that is a REAL experience .... lol
