How do you warm up? Do you start will drills? Do you just throw out some balls? Do you work on a particular shot? Do you work on position?

If I have a serious match coming and have the table and @ 15-20 minutes, I'll do something like (assume it's 9 ball):

- spread out the 9 balls for an easy run, just to loosen up. Do this once or twice
- shoot some spot shots, some long straight ins, some long moderately angled with OB on and near long rail, some cut shots
- do some distance control shots. CB only, and then CB -> OB
- do a # of banks, side - corner - cross-corner - long
- do a few breaks. Run out the last one.

Get the stroke, get the touch, get the rails, get the break, get the confidence

(I make it sound like I know what I'm doing, but I'm still 2 balls short )

I meditate really hard and try to levitate above my chair. That usually gives me the edge. :)

Remember, it is just as important to warm-up the Mental as it is the Physical.

If I get a chance I shoot three shots on my game table. That gives me the speed & kicking info that I need.....SPF=randyg

I cut balls backwards. hit em hard, with a lot of english, with as loose a stroke possible, and bank a few.

Codeine?

What medication do you choose that gives you that ability?

Oh wait... you said meditate, not medicate. :p

I just found a picture of NewStroke.

Their is no spoon......

just throw 15 balls random around the table and shoot them in no particular order when im with my friends i do the same thing exept we shoot 1 shoot each and try to run out and play position for each other that helps alot in positional play practice imo

Mother drill 2, 4, and 5 takes me about 20-35 minutes. Afterwards, about 100 shots of either Mother drill 6 or Joe Tucker's drill 1.

Dude, that's EXACTLY what I do with my budd. Works great and it really gets under the skin of others warming up for the tourney. Makes it SEEM like we know what we're doing hahaha.

IF I warm up before a 9ball tourney, I will throw ten balls out on the table and take ball in hand and repeat.

For an 8ball tourney, I normally do warm up. I rack, break, and play 8ball either by myself or find a poor soul who I trick into playing me. lol.

okay, okay, show me yours now.

I knew you would like that...
I will throw about 10 balls out and shoot in any order, then I will shoot 3 in rotation. If i make them then go to 4 and on and on. If I miss then I go back one.

you guys talk like you spend time at the table playing

I squat at the end of the table and get comfortable with that position for a minute, then I hold the rack in my hand and get a feel for it.... then I rack the balls as tight as possible. After that I try to catch the waitress's name and get comfy in my chair with my drink, food, and whatever else I have with me. Then I'm set for the night to watch my opponents run racks on me.

I usually throw out 5 or 6 balls and then take ball in hand and try to run them out in order. If I feel like my game is off a little I like to rifle in some long straight shots and then do some moderate cut shots with top, bottom, left and right english.
