Maybe you are not familiar with how BH and Matchroom has been choosing Team USA for Mosconi Cup. They have to adapt their selection process because of the sad state of affairs in American pool each year. Most times, however, the selection process is based on those precious "BCA points." Because of those stupid points that don't mean squat to anybody except the player who wants to compete in the Mosconi Cup, the American pros would travel to the BCA points tournaments.
Well, this year, in case you haven't noticed, the points are not being used in the selection process. Furthermore, any tournament I have ever been to in my life when Earl is present, bar none, Earl Strickland is who the fans want to see.
Earl Strickland has won more tournament championship, titles, and tin cups than any other American in my lifetime, and he is still going strong at the age of 52, as evidenced by the Joss/Turnning Stone win.
I have pool mags and newsletters from 1975 to 1995 in my pool library. Earl dominates about a 20-year-span in the print media. He deserves to be there in the 20th anniversary of the Mosconi Cup. Love him or hate him, Earl is an American phenom when it comes to pool. His record is unsurpassed.
Having watched films like the gangs of new york and Rocky IV, us brits thought all you Americans wore stuff like this all the time..

No...It was the English that wore Red Coats walking through the green woods & fields.
I hope we have a great Cup with great close matches and...
a certain referee wears a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader type uniform & is escorted into the 'ring' by her husband.
Best Wishes,
Rick
PS Jam if you want to make a million or more bucks develop a way to change the focus range on photos.
Earl is also short tempered and uncouth. He told an entire city they suck at one of the previous Mosconi Cups. That is also very tame compared to some things he says at the table.Personality and emotion is what pool needs. Earl has both. :grin-square:
Man, why did you have to bring her husband into the image and ruin it?!![]()

Agreed!!!!!!It will be nice to see Dennis holding the Mosconi Cup trophy once again.
Earl complains that no one respects pool and pool players yet last week up at the Turning Stone he refused to show Karen Corr any respect during their match,,
He kept refering to her as ''This Girl This and This Girl That'',,,,and the ''F'' Bobs flew freely when she would check the rack,,,,''What does this girl think,,,,I'm a ''F''ing thief,,,,I'm gonna cheat this ''F''ing girl,,,,,,??
The total opposite of Earl is Rondney Morris,,,,,Class all the way,!!!
Alan,,
Earl does have a thing about playing against ladies, always has. :embarrassed2:
That said, he won't have to worry about it in Vegas at the Cup. There won't be any lady team members.
My biggest concern about Vegas is the locale. I really hope Team USA stays together in unison and practices. I fear the distractions in Vegas that lures some pro players to stay in their rooms sometimes and not with their fellow team mates. With Earl, the Vegas distractions aren't a problem. With the others, I'm not so sure.
Earl could spot most of the members of the team and take it down. Maybe he will just show up and ask if anybody wants to matchup for the cash! US pool is a very political animal, you are either in or out. ABP makes sure of that. Playing ability is obviously secondary these days. If you haven't noticed Hatch's game is slipping the past couple years and Earl is re-inventing how the game is played.
runz,
What do you mean by Earl is 're-inventing' how the game is played?
Best,
Rick
