Illness/Medication and playing ability? (Cold/Flu)

When I have a cold/flu or whatever, I certainly don't play my best, that's for sure.

When I have a cold, I take that night time medication. I don't know if it is the cold which makes me play worse or the medication.

It just seems my head is sort of "cloudy" and like I can't think clearly.

Anyone else notice this?

Yes ! My theory is that some colds/flus affect your balance (inner ear thing) thus throwing off your game. I find it difficult to maintain a solid stance. Instead I waver around a bit, which makes for some very bad shots.

Like , you know man, I get that way when we get some really good weed. Yeah man, just like you say, wobble, don't think, you know, all that shit man.
Happens every time dude. And man, if you got a good bong and some of that bad ass weed, watch out man. It like happened to me yesterday. We was just playing and smoking and playing and smoking man, and I got just like you says. Wobble dude. What kind of cough surp do you like man. Da codine really screws up my game. Instead of wobble man, I fall down. Specially when we are drinking wiskey, smoking the weed, and the cough surp. WOW what a trip dude. Ya got to try it man. Glad there is another head on the board. You ain't a chick are ya dude. I mean, we could play and party some ya know. Maybe you would like to come over and manicure some basement erb. Keep it to yoself man, you never know who is watching. Big Brother man.

As far as the flu goes, I've played some of my best pool due to sickness. You need to take the non-drowsy cold medicine and stay off the night-time stuff. The night-time stuff has pain relievers and stuff to help you sleep.
A few years back I took 2 days off work and layed on my couch barely able to move. My wife was surprised because I never miss work. I got up Saturday morning and she asked what I was doing. I'm going to the tournament. 2 and a half hour drive. I win the flip the first match and ran the set out{race to 7}.
Personally, I think my concentration is better because I don't feel like chit-chatting with everyone. Sam
 
Once you get into a substance, you feel like you cant play good without it. Nobody respects that crap. Dont get into it. Even if you think its cold medicine or whatever. Ive had my run arounds with that sort of thing. Bad JU JU .

If this is any kind of comprimise when it comes to this kind of subject-
-Dont play tournaments on any kind of whatever

-gambling, well anything is fare game, just do what you have to win.

That just comprimise to some of those who disagree
 
There are herbal remedies available that don't intoxicate.

I haven't had a cold for over 3 years now, as when I feel a "tickle" in my throat, I chew up these tablets that kill the cold on the spot. They contain echinacea, black elderberry, larch tree and zinc. My tounge turns blue for about 20 minutes, but that's a lot better than a cold.

Yeah...I know what you mean. I dated this chick once and each time I left her place I used to have a "blue" problem. The blue was somewhere else, but it might have gotten there as a result of my tongue. :confused:
