I'm looking for a cue building lathe

No. That's well over priced, when you can get the Cue Maker and taper attachment for $400 more than what your asking.

Firstcues,
You would do well to double-check your math. You're missing all the extras. By my estimation, pulling from Unique's website, Tom's setup new is about $6,000.

$3395 for bare bones lathe
Additional options
- Tapering Attachment (Optional)-1195

- Support Base with Drawers*(Optional)-275

There are many many fine cue making lathes on the market. Chris Hightower has a great package for around $3K, Porper I think $4K. I have owned both, more than one, and they do a great job.

I suggest doing your math to figure out what you are spending for what and start pricing everything else you need. Very tough to get into without being about 10K liquid after you buy everything.

Trust me, I have been where you sit and as soon as you think you have bought everything there will always be something else you will need/want to buy.

Best of luck to you

You ain't lying man, lol. I thought I had all the stuff I needed $5000 ago, lol. I'm lucky to have a good job that can support my habit.

Joe, LOL, I love your slogan under your signature. There is money in making cues its the sweet gotta have wood and oh if I buy those parts to make that jig that makes it worse than crack.

Smart guy has that little lathe to thread tennons and put ferrles and tips on for $45.00 a pop. No big bucks but it can feed the gas and play pool gig.
