Hi every body I'm new to the forum and need some help I'm a average c player just came back after ten years off and feel back in love with the game most of the time I'm just and average c player but ever now and then I amaze my self there are days when I can't run 3 balls but there are days when I can run 6 racks I once scored 93 in a game of 99 and then the next day lost to a d player I believe it's mental but if any body has some ideas I'll listen. I also have a very bad back and party blame it on that

Lesson?

Have you ever taken a lesson?

Even with lessons, we all have our good and bad days, but a good teacher can do much, like define and explain the three foundations of a good pool game...Simplicity, Consistency & Imagination.

I have taken some lessons from Danny baskavich aka kid delisous. And I didn't love the lessons mostly about me not useing enough spin and he tried to teach me to pause at the end of my stroke I'd love to Finder a good teacher in New Jersey if any body knows 1

Fastrockyf...What you need is a professional instructor, as opposed to a professional player. If you can make it to New York City I would highly recommend Mark Finkelstein or Tony Robles.

My question to you is, do you have a solid pre-shot routine? You should have a pre-shot routine that you follow consistently before every shot. I've read over a dozen books on the game, watched as many instructional videos, and conducted numerous Google searches looking for more information about the game. I wrote an article about the consistency that is available on my blog at: http://www.poolpsyche.com/consistency-in-pool-introduction/

Before paying for a lesson, I would develop a pre-shot routine and ask others what they include in their routine. The more detailed you are in your routine, such as picking the exact spot you want the cue ball to stop after every shot, the more consistent you will be.

Best of luck to you in your pool journey!
