I'm Pissed!

Two words: Leon Lett.

As a Redskins fan, I really enjoyed that one play in Super Bowl XXVII. Even if I wasn't quite 12 years old at the time.

Just read the front page about the World Summit of Pool and how Payulayan turns his head sideways for a no look shot on the 9 ball against Busti. MISSES, then Busti Misses the 9 ball and hands it back to Alex for the win. What Total BS is this?? I don't know about you guys but that's pretty bush league imo. I would expect more of these guys than a comedy routine. Maybe they should stick to hustling fish and playing poker and let the "serious" players battle it out for the titles. St. "ex fan of them both"

If those "serious" players would step up their game and beat these two Filipino Greats, they would have a chance at the titles.

Imho

Pro pool players are not elected officials. Just because they represent our sport to the world, we do not get a say in how they behave.

Now, if they break rules (unsportsmanlike conduct, sharking, etc.) then their opponent may ask the ref to take action.

If, on the other hand, they decide to approach the game in a way you disagree with, there is really no recourse available.

You may as well get mad at Efren for not getting upset when he misses. Tell him that he needs to take the game more seriously. It is clear that he does, but he doesn't see the need to reprimand himself for a mistake made.

It is a free country, and if you wish to compete day and night for 10 years, and find yourself fortunate to make the finals of a major, I will give you permission to play however you would like.

about a year ago I was watching a golf skins match with Daly, Couples, and some other guys, and they were having the time of there lives. One of them brough a fake golf ball with a little motor in it that moved the ball, and faked it for Daly's ball. One was acting as the caddy for the other one, and they showed a clip of a match years ago when one of them lost a skin to Annika Sorensten so he wore a dress of hers on the next hole.

All I am saying is, have fun. They are already professionals, The Lion even has a world title under his belt, so he can do what he wants to. Lighten up a little.

I'm reminded of the film "A League of Their Own" in which Dottie Hansen, in a deliberate attempt to bring some media publicity to the financially struggling women's professional baseball league, did a split to catch a routine pop-up. As anyone who watched the film will remember, it proved to be the turning point for the league.

I think Alex and Busty, besides being naturally ebullient individuals, were probably trying, in their own way, to do someting for the good of the sport. It's not in my nature to engage in that type of display in a tournament, but it truly does take all kinds to make a world--or a tour!

Big deal, so the Lion was having a little fun, isn't that what pool is about? Who exactly is he hurting other than himself by missing. Or are you just sore someone else didn't win?

Right on. Makes for more interesting reading than just shooting the ball in the hole, anyway. Perhaps he actually enjoys what he does and doesn't need to "prove" himself to everybody else...we should all be so lucky. :D

Maybe if he would stop screwing around, he might actually win sometime.

The nerve of some people!!!!

Obviously you don't know a thing about Alex. Have YU ever won a tournament with a word-class player feild??? Probably not. HE HAS.....a few times too!! He has MANY accolades to his name....and believe me he didn't win them "screwing around".

AND, if happened to notice, he did win this tournament....oh yeah but by your means he was "screwing around".......you shouldn't post such idiotic things....unless you were joking?

Got it... I realized it afterwards...thats why I said "unless your joking" in the end....silly me...

Bashing Alex = pissing Phoebe off....LOL:D

I see red....haha!

i would have to agree...even just reading what Alex did made me laugh...i have a guy who shots two to three balls better than me who does that little trick ..but on table lenght shots and snaps them off like there nothing. Let them have some fun..it lets the world know that they are human and that they still play this sport not for the money but because they love it..

I was there Fransico started the whole thing by messing with Alex when he was shooting the 8-ball. As a joking manner Alex was being cocky....it should have been a foul even though busti was screwing around...Alex cried foul when he missed the 9, but I think busti wouldn't have taken the win either way....they are both stand up guys and have a great deal of respect for one another....lol...I played Texas Hold'em with them all night everynight in Vegas....Survival of the fitest I guess......I'm still upset that busti caught a flush on the turn and river when I went all in on the flop....he didn't have jack squat!!!!

so how was Francisco's record in Texas Hold'em ? does he play his cards good and bluff that well? I bet you got a pair of Aces back then when he pulled a flush ! most people live or die on the river.
