I just played Antonio "Gaga" Gabica at "The Green Room" tonight during a Monday night nine ball tournament, and didn't know who he was until I researched on the Internet tonight.

I feel like a moron. Not the first time something went right over my head.

I guess everyone there knew exactly who he was except me.

Hi Gregg, Is there a tournament every Monday night ? I visit my family in Vineland once a month and I usally end up there as well. Thanks

Treat it as a Tuition Fee. It'll make you feel better. :D

What was the spot? Don't tell us you played him even?

it's okay when i landed dennis hatch in the 1st round of the viking natl, i didn't know who he was until he ran a 7 pack on me, than my buddy told me who he was.. i took it as a learning experiance

I met him a couple of weeks ago, very nice gentleman.

Tuition Fee? I would have paid to watch him shoot. I felt great being able to play. I mean, who can match up with him, really?

"The Green Room" Monday night tournament is handicap, I'm an APA SL5, and a D- at the Green Room. My spot was a game on the wire, the breaks, the five and the seven called.

He was amazing. It was like watching an NFL player and saying to yourself, who, that guy plays just like those professional guys,and then finding out that he is one. And one of the best, at that.

He appeared to hit every ball the same speed, and could move the cue ball effortlessly from and to anywhere on the table.

If I had the pics, I would have kindly asked for a signature from him.

On that note, does anybody have a Bio of him, how old, tournaments won?

BTW...Warren Kiamco was there also.

I don't know if they are there every week, or what the story is. I'll try to find out, or someone can tell me.

He was amazing. Wonderful stroke, hit the cueball same speed it seemed on every shot, hit the cueball lower than I ever thought possiible.

He was able to obtain easy position on the most difficult of shots, with a very small target area. He hardly seemed to be trying.

Oh, you didn't read my second post, I'll cut and paste;

"The Green Room" Monday night tournament is handicap, I'm an APA SL5, and a D- at the Green Room. My spot was a game on the wire, the breaks, the five and the seven called.

Score ended up 3-5 in his favor, and that's with my game on the wire. I think both of my wins were off of either the five or the seven, but the score can be deceiving in that he clamped down and easily won when I got to within a game of being on the hill. He just about ran out after my break on his fifth win with a tough layout on a pretty difficult Gold Crown with Simonis and moderately tight pockets.

Personally, I don't get all hung up on wins/losses during a handicapped match where you never win or lose to the player, you only beat or lose to the handicap.

The reality is he is about seven balls better than I am in a game of nine ball.

Man, if you saw him shoot. He was awesome.

The funny thing is I was watching him shoot, and thinking, "Wow, this guy has got his stroke down just like the Filipinos do."

Here a bit on him;
