I'm starting to like Ball in Hand rules

The last few times my friend and I played 8-ball, we decided to implement BiH in our game. So, every time you don't use full power on your shots, it's a foul and your opponent gets BiH. I really enjoyed it and won every game. And no, neither of us made a single foul.

No foul, no ball in hand. How do you measure "full power"??

Not sure it is so good for 8 ball.

On one hand, you are enjoying pool, and that's what it's all about.
On the other hand, you are playing the game in a different matter than what is suitable for others to enjoy.

So, curiously enough, why are you telling us that you now enjoy playing one foul/ball in hand, when you are adding rules that you have made up? That's along the same lines as you objecting to play with one foul/ball in hand rules. You are not following the common rules, therefore you are not doing anything better than before.

Please take no offense, but you are basically saying: I quit drinking alcohol, but I decided to start doing drugs.

It doesn't have to be full power literally, but it needs to have the speed of an average break shot.

I'm sorry, I guess you didn't notice the intentional irony of my post. This is a response to everyone who trolled my posts, bashed our regional 8-ball variant and persisted on telling me I have to start playing BiH, as it wasn't real pool I've been playing all my life. We had a good laugh at those pool snobs who refuse to recognize the pool world outside of BCA and WPA.

Good ol Ram Shot 8 ball. For some people out there that's the only way they know how to play.

I find I have many more opportunities to implement the Ram Shot when we play BIH rules. We play that if EVERY ball on the table doesn't move during your shot it is a BIH foul. This makes the Ram Shot critical to winning games!

Eh, what?

Either you made up your own rule, or you don't understand what a "legal" hit is in non-bar rules.

You don't need to just hit hard for a legal hit, you need to contact your ball and then either the cueball or any other ball has to contact a rail.

The issue with your posts is that you kept insisting that someone playing randomly would beat someone playing the right way, and had all sorts of weird ideas about the rules and how to actually play. Everyone here knows about bar rules, the thing is that very very few people that play at a more than D level actually like playing by them if given a choice.

Mostly, because they, like P&P, make up their own rules:eek:

Makes much sense to me anyway.

The last part was like when Rhea said that she wasn't going to gamble any more, just at pool.

Same a saying, "I won't use a needle, but I will still put it up my nose.

Has to be the same speed as a break shot. Sounds like you guys are obviously just Horsing Around and as to whether you use International Rules or bar rules, makes little difference. I doubt that you would get many to agree to your rules of engagement.

Altho, to me it does sound a tad intriguing. To the point that I might entertain you in your rules for a couple of games, but that would be the limit.

And yet you still defy us, after we told you you HAVE TO PLAY BALL IN HAND RULES.

OR ELSE!!!!

^^^^ Well said!!!!
I could believe that P&P has more than one profile on AZB and I could almost guess what his other username is, it is a common user who constantly badgers other AZBers just to try to get a rise out of them.

You seem to think he wants to learn to play pool. He's just here to fvck with pool players - maybe because they seem like easy trolling targets. Maybe he's right.

chgo

Yep, if he borrowed a sensible rule, to be used with his barbaric set, it would be like
putting lipstick on a pig.
