I'm not a REAL big fan of the purples, but i wouldn't mind having some curly purples... If you didn't have that curly maple next to it, i wouldn't have even thought about it :P .

Thanks,

Jon
That's because you have never hit with a cue with a pingy curly and nice purpleheart. 2 of the best Z's I've shot with is this combo.
Curly purples? Have a great time finding one.
Maybe a supplier in the desert has one. :D

I'll go out in the desert, and crack open a cactus and find their stash of curly purples :D . I don't know if they are dry though, he's not here, and i have no idea  .

Thanks,

Jon

Joey these cues are looking awesome :) I hope they hit as good as they look!
Thanks Bob. The three cues on the spray rack is my mentor's cues ( Kerry Zeiler). They will all hit sweet. He makes them tight. No metal bolts, really strong epoxy and uses very good wood only.
The rest are mine. I've been bouncing them after they were glued. So far they all sound solid. I was lucky to find a good supplier of very good shafts too. :)

Ohh man, that heart wood sure is purdy isn't it?

No stain can equal that...

Thanks,

Jon

It's so pretty you had to say it twice. LOL
The two curlies are spoken for. One will have a really dark coco handle ( sneeze).
One is awaiting an exotic handle. I'm thinking macassar ebony that hopefully arrives next week and does not get lost.
Those heartwood b'eyes do look sick. Very hard too. It would have been a nice handle but I did not have the heart to make them into handles.
They will hit a ton.

Thanks Zim.
I'm starting a new batch b/c I'm getting bored waiting for the first batch to cure.
Gerald here ordered a bubinga with leather wrap. I'm making me a Brazilian rosewood front and maybe a sick bocote handle ( I'd love to use my olivewood for a handle but it's still wet) or macassar ebony.

I agree with Zim. You guys seems to be doing an online comedy show. :p
But I do enjoy seeing the woods and the cues in progress too.
Keep it up, guys! :D

Hey Jon, I don't need your opinion but lemme hear it anyway b/c I had too much capuccino today and I need to post something at past midnight today.
Here ya go. Brazilian Rosewood forearm blank in need of a hard handle.
Bocote or bubinga?

A nice curly koa.
Will prolly dry in a year in my room where it's 80 degrees and 45-50% humidity most of the time.
I wonder what handle will go with this.

Hi Joey
From a cosmetic point of view, I would think that the bubinga looks better. :)

Afraid of ??
The bocote is heavier. I like heavy handles.
Also, the bubinga requires more work ( sanding and finishing prep).
Bocote is a breeze to work with. Smells like mustard though. :D

Well, i feel wanted...
I'm a bocote man, so that is what i would go with...

Thanks,

Jon
This bocote is weird-looking. Light in color and has heavy figuring.
Should hit a ton too.

Joey, That is why I said from a cosmetic point of view.
I know nothing about wood properties. Do bear with me. :)
