Joey-- Is that madacassar ebony and curly maple I see on the far right?? Maybe not, but looks like it to me! What do you have planned for that cue? Inlays, plain jane, phenolic joint/butt cap, etc?

Thanks,
Zim

Zim, that is correct.
Cyberrot here owns that. It's gonna have buckhorn collars with ebony trims, curly ring between two brass A/B rings.
The 1 inch threaded on Delrin buttcap will have an ebony with 8 slot of micarta ring with brass and curly trims.
No inlays, no points. The two woods are very figured. They'll have nature's inlays.
It'll a 3/8 11 or radial pin ( about 1.2 oz). The forearm and handle have no bolts in between. All wood.

Hey Zim,

How do you like these combos?

Mac Ebony w/ Curly handle. Still hasn't been cut up yet...

Mac Ebony w/ Paduak Handle. Still hasn't been cut up yet... This one is gonna be purdy...

(Image deleted... too wide :D )

Thanks,

Jon

Yeap, that is mine. It has been glued recently and I have caused Joey headaches and a few hair over the ringwork and the selection of handle wood
Sorry, Joey. :o

Suffer rings.
Choices, choices,choices.
Nice work Joey! Would you be interested in selling a 3" piece of your ring work? Is that holly or linen? I'm looking for ebony/holly(white), bocote/holly(white), cocabola/holly(white) and purpleheart/holly(white). Send me a PM if you're interested in selling some and how much.

Thanks,
Zim

BigJon- What are your plans for the curly maple/ebony? Ringwork, inlays, butt cap, joint, pin, etc!

Zim

Zim, those are micarta slots on those rings.
Have lazy Big Jon make 'em. LOL
The horizontal mill at my training ground is broke.
Hey, Jon come on. Get your mill ready. We need billets.
Zim, I gotta warn you on ebony and coco ring billets. They get hot when cutting or parting. Cut em realllly slowly and let it cool between pecking ( pardon the word).
ML, no trouble at all. I am glad we found a great combo in curly and striped ebony.

gee... that pommelle sure is purdy

Hey, your pics are just as wide as mine :p

Thanks,

Jon

Oooh, my eyes hurt.
Just assembled this today and will hang for a while.

Please DO NOT copy it. Put an oak handle on yours or something.
Maybe poplar. :D
