These ones were painted on. I used Mary Kay expired red dot lipstick my gramma doesn't use anymore.
I hope they don't find out.

Any idea what 004 is gonna look like? Just wondering.

Zim, those are micarta slots on those rings.
Have lazy Big Jon make 'em. LOL
The horizontal mill at my training ground is broke.
Hey, Jon come on. Get your mill ready. We need billets.
Zim, I gotta warn you on ebony and coco ring billets. They get hot when cutting or parting. Cut em realllly slowly and let it cool between pecking ( pardon the word).
ML, no trouble at all. I am glad we found a great combo in curly and striped ebony.
BigJon- Whatta ya say about making us some billets? Email me photos of what you have, if you want to make a few bucks! haha!!
Thanks,
Zim

I fired the horizontal up yesterday, and it works lol. I'm not gonna do anything on it until i change all of the belts, and i don't know how long it is gonna take.
And i don't have anything made up at the moment. As soon as i have some, i'll post a few pics. If they look as good with real materials as they do in my head, they should be grrrrrrrrrrreat.

I'll think about it :D :p .

Thanks,

Jon

BigJon- What are your plans for the curly maple/ebony? Ringwork, inlays, butt cap, joint, pin, etc!

Zim

Ummm... probably ebony front/sleeve, with the curly handle. Some nice stitch rings (i'll come up with something :D ) . No inlays, i might venture into points on this one, not sure yet. Most likely some sort of phenolic joint and buttcap with my own pin (3/8-10 Flat bottom.)

I should have (including mine) around 2-3 others finished soon enough. and after that i have some woods matched up that i will start on in the next couple of weeks...

Yipee.

Thanks,

Jon

That's great. I'd like mine with brass borders.
Oops! I'm gonna trademark it now before Jimbo accuses me of plagerizing. LOL

You'd like???

Brass border them yourself ya lazy bastard  :p ;) :D  .
And those aren't for sale :p .
Wait until i get the right cutter, and i'll make what will be bordering those. I don't think i'll be doing much "simple" rings :D :p .

Oh, i'm gonna print out some pictures and some printout of the cad drawings (showing depths, widths etc.) and mail them to myself...

Thanks,

Jon

Big J, I just had to do this. Beat you to it. It's now patented. :p
Thanks Zim.
Jon has some evil plans.
He's making his tribute to Marlboro cue soon.
He's prolly gonna stain it with tar. :D

Beat me to what? Not lining up your rings??? You lazy bastard, they are only 3-4" away! LOL :p .

Hey, that may look like a Marlboro when it's done... I never thought of that... they may sue me.

Thanks,

Jon

Those aren't glued yet. LOL
I have to get approval from owners before gluing.
I'll send you some blue and red woods.

Niiiiiice CURLY PINK IVORY! Never seen that before...so nice...how bout some close-ups? :p

Tim.
Very rare indeed. That might get paired up with the curly maple on top of it. Maple forearm and curly pink ivory handle has never been done as far as I know.
I might charge Cyberrot here double for it. He's reserved those two pieces.
I can only imagine how pretty it'd would looke with some ivory checks and staghorn collars.

I can't tell what the scale of those stocks are in real life, but from the pictures the piece of curly pink ivory looks a little short for a handle to me, what's it actually like Joey? It sure would look great, and I've never seen curly pink ivory period let alone in a cue.

Tim.
