Importing shaft from europe

If you get caught, it gets confiscated, and you can face charges for importing ivory.

With the whole world totally fed up with the Ivory poachers , and with one push of a button they could alert the US Fish and game or customs to this thread and to you.
I find it extremely odd why you guys do this in a international public forum when its a felony.
To me when this happens it only make what Raw pre ban Ivory I own at risk of becoming illegal.
And personally I worry about some of the cues I own that have Ivory in them some day being destroyed because no one paid attention to the pre ban ivory act .
So all you guys who ship Ivory illegal just chime on in so the feds have a good idea that the laws that are in place now are not effective and more and new laws and punishments need to be made.
Why anyone announces that they are thinking of committing a felony in a public forum is totally insane .

Thank you, not knowing the complexity of the law I have no desire to commit a crime. The distinction of pre ban ivory or other distinctions is something I thought the traders and dealers would know from their experiences. consequently I will not be buying anything from this seller

The shaft could always have a ivory ferrule or collar put on legally on the shaft after its imported legally.
There is really no reason to take that kind of risk over a little piece of Ivory..
Its just doesn't have to be done that way.

Even pre-ban cannot be imported. Once it leaves the US, it's gone. Getting it back in is illegal unless it's in a diplomatic pouch.
Better to be Safe than Sorry Buddy. Not worth anything for the price of one shaft.
You may just get a shaft that lasts you a very long time.
However, you could order a shaft from Vollmer with just the Tenon. Made to the size that you prefer, 1/2" or what ever. Find a cue maker in the USA that will put on an Ivory Ferrule for you. That should still be legal to do so. If they reside in your Home State anyway.
Worth it if you have your Heart set on Ivory. I'm not overly familiar with the many different ferrule materials available today as I use only a couple or three.
I would believe that there are some materials out there that may give you the same hit that you are looking for, and maybe better. Plus the look of it also.
