in need of half steel joints

i have some but there extremely over sized does anyone have some half steel joints that are finished size???? or know where i can get some???

I don't install them first but machining off the excess is how I do mine. I put them in the chuck and center them as best as I can with the live center, turn the front down far enough so that it has a very thin nose but so the threads don't show, reverse the joint in the chuck and repeat until the joint is the length that I want and then I run a carbide boring bar, at an angle into the end of the threads so as to clean and chamfer them so that they once again thread easily. I do around 20 or so at a time and just like ferrules, deco-rings, tips and inserts I have them in stock ready to go. It doesn't take long on a metal lathe as you can take pretty heavy bites.

im working off a hightower it doesnt seem to like the SS looks like ill be making a trip to newlex ohio to use a real lathe (my fathers shop)

Ha, even the one pictured on thier websight looks to have rust in the threads. Truth in advertising!!!
