Hi,
New special bearings installed on my Hardinge Lathe. The TRO was .0001 when I got it and the bearings were a little noisy.
My good friend and machinist Alan replaced the bearings and I had him install a Unique Products Big Bore Chuck as my back chuck.
The TRO is now as close to zero as I can measure it.
This lathe is set up to thread my shafts and do my pin installs using custom tapered 5C collets Al made to match my shaft and butt geometry tapers.
After I broke in the bearings for several weeks, Al trued up the back chuck today and after seeing the accuracy of this baby I almost shit my pants. It was unreal to have this degree of machine accuracy in my shop. My buck chuck could only be adjusted to .0004. This collet chuck is awesome.
Loving life in the cue shop. The Rat Race is always just a fading memory
