In Taipei

Hey All,

I'm in Taipei right now and I just finished playing. The tournament started out rough with losses to Ga Young Kim and Karen Corr. I was feeling like I didn't deserve to be here. Before todays matches began, Jeanette Lee pulled me aside because she saw how down I looked, and she gave me a great pep talk which was just what I needed. I went on to defeat Shin-Mei Liu and Shu Han Chang. If I had won my last match I most likely would have advanced out of my group, but I lost to an absolutely on fire Jasmin Ouschan. I missed one ball and lost 7-1.

As far as the fun stuff, I visited the tallest shopping mall in the world, the 101 tower, which has 101 floors, but only 5 of them are shopping (unfortunately). I visited an amazing temple and gave my thanks to the gods for allowing me to be here (and I asked them to let me play well, too.) I went to Snake Alley and held a 20 foot python...I have a photo of that which I took with the digital camera I bought while I was here. I visited the night market for some late night shopping. I ate weird stuff like sheeps belly, shark fin and birds nest soup, a tea egg and sea cucumber stuffed with roasted pork. All in all it was a great time, but I AM SO READY TO COME HOME!

All the best,

Jenn

Great job, Jenn. I've never heard of Shu Han Chang, but a win over Shin-Mei Lui is incredible. Congratulations! Hopefully this prepared you well for the upcoming BCA Open. Again, congratulations on a job well done.

I just want to congratulate you on a job well done. Now..about the sheeps belly, shark fin, birds nest soup, a tea egg and sea cucumber stuffed with roasted pork?!?!?! I guess you can't knock it until you try it. :D

A 20 foot python  You wouldn't get me within 20 feet of that 20 foot snake!

Jasmin does hit them pretty sporty too bad she didn't make it out of the round robin stages, good luck at the BCA Open.

Hey Jenn,

You definitely need to post the pic of you and the snake! Congrats on your hard work in Taipai, and welcome home!

Jennifer, nice to hear from you! Too bad that you started out rough… Just take that experience and bring it home and apply it to your next tourney in Vegas! Have fun and enjoy!

How do I post a picture? I've never tried it before.

Click the 'Post Reply' button, it will open a window with a lot more options then the quick reply at the bottom of the screen.

Towards the bottom is a 'Manage Attachment' button that you can click on to upload pictures to.

Ok, I hope this works!

Yeah, I noticed that dark image on Jen's arm also - tatoo? I'll see if it's there in Vegas next week.

Good fortune in Vegas.

One of the things we did when I was in Taipei was to go to a basketball game. The TV station that was filming the Amway Cup has a team called "The Hunters" and they asked everyone to apply temporary tattoos during the game. It took 3 days for the thing to come off!

Hummm Hunters - Great name for a team!

Hey Jenn,

Great picture! My new computer background... Nice to have you back on the forum.

Whoa...why is it so huge? I guess I should have resized it.

Jenn...

I could have resized this pic for you, but I wasn't on here when you posted it. Maybe next time. ;)
