Heard through the grapevine that Incardona and Ike played for 15 bags of sand with another 20 on the rail. Didnt hear about who won though..just that it was in progress some time over a week ago. Anyone hear who won this? Were they playing even?

This is what I heard. The match was played at Red Shoes over the course of a few days. Ike came out ahead on the hill. I don't know what weight was given. A rematch in the near future is unlikely. Again this is only what my grapevine told me. Also from the grapevine, tonight at Quentin's Corner Pocket, Baldaras and Big John are playing. Anyone going?

I was asked a week or so to post the scoop. But things have been real busy here, so this is what I know for now...

They played for 3-4 days and there was a total of around $70.000 bet over the days. Ike won the final bet 10/9 and the pot. It was a great week for Mr. Runnels.

If you all have questions, I will call Ike and ask him. Post them here and I will have them answered.

Ike and Billy

I was there. The last day there was a 48k pot up with about another 12k on the side. I stuck my nose in and bet $500 on Billy. He was getting 9 to 8. It was a race to 10 games. Ike won 10 to 9. Billy hung up the session ball twice and Ike had to follow it in. Billy was ahead 6 to 4, 8 to 5 and 9 to 8. Ike showed big heart and did not give up under extreme pressure.

Sounds like a great match, and they were playing for a big chunk of change, wished I would've been there to witness it first hand.

Ike had called Bob for us to come up, but we were running a tournament and couldn't make it...:(

It surely was the best action here in Chicago in a long time. Also, Red Shoes, Hall Of Champions.. Best action in Chicago.

from what I have heard if billy is a lockartist. If is is playing he must have the nuts.
Well this doesn't seem to make sense after the out come of this match, does it?

Anytime the bet gets that high....it makes me wonder when the gamble stops and the business begins.

Hill/ hill, game ball almost made by both players...a little tight for Bid-ness, wouldn't you think?

Thanks for the info
Your right .... it takes alot of heart to stay in the match and finish it off.
I bet the rail was going nuts with such a close match and the two hangers left that Ike followed in.

RUDE(man)dog,
Billy is well known as an expert in the dynamics of gambling.
Inspite of his great knowledge, one time he could not figure out what was going on when Dennis Hatch did some funny stuff in Los angeles during a pro Billiard Tour event in 1993.
