I have seen

Jeff Clay
George
Denver
Chris
Brian G x2
Mac Ashby
Jim Stoner (no idea why he is there)
Evert
Gentry (who I think is the most underrated player in Indiana) and maybe even the most unknown as he doesn't travel much

Wondering where

Steve O
Larry Y (know he kinda retired but figured for this he would play)
Waldo
Bob Dickerson and son

etc. are

Anyone have any info?

Thanks

jeremy brown went 2 and out in the banks was surprised to see that, he has had some high finishes in the past i dont think he's been playing much the last few years, i remember him sayin he beat piggy banks one year and was up against parica and lost

gary finished in the final 12 last year in the banks, have always heard that gary has a really good job and thats why he doesn't play many tournies, always hear about how good of a guy he is and how he tries to make fair games, both of these guys are strong bank players

I played the first round of the banks and lost. Decided I would come back home and work for a couple of days. Not to sound like a cliche', the guy made some nice shots, but I'd like to play him another set.
Waldo is there, along with Felix Lukenbill, Troy Jones, Larry Wagner and a couple more Muncie Players. Jim Stoner plays pretty good Bank pool, that's why he's there. As for Larry York, I haven't seen him out playing for at least a 4-5 years. I also ran into Bobbie Dickerson.

He is underrated.

You can put together teams for leagues etc. and most times Gary's name wont come up. And for sure it should.

Larry and I went to the arthritis tourneys a few times and always like Gary and Gene's play.

underated??

That because most Evansville people know that he dosnt perfer league play. Did you know that he recently won an Apa regional turnimant. Thats pretty big for someone underated. We are talking some good players here.

many years ago Larry york left pool to be an Artist:cool:

Gentry beats Joyner

I watched that match at least for a while. Gentry was down 0-2 and won 3 straight over Joyner.

How strong is that?

Secondly, our own Woody from Terre Haute, made some good showing on the one pocket down there!

Ken

Thats is some great playing and hart to come back from that.
I will be needing a larger spot from Gary in the future ;]

"That's my boy," Underated! Not a chance!!

Bubsbug,

Maybe you don't underrate him but he is underrated and in addition undervalued.

Just because you have heard of him or seen him play doesn't mean he isn't underrated.

I know him very, very well. He is right now the best APA player In the State of Indiana!! If you are an APA player yourself, Look in this months APA magazine. There you will find his picture and a breif artical. You will also see that he placed 3rd In the country. I repeat 3rd in the country. I seriously doubt that he is underated. Gentry is a classic quiet gentleman that you are confusing with underated. He is kind of like Marvin Harrison of the colts. A lot of people think that he is underated because he is very quite and doest speak out. I think 3rd in the nation speaks volumes.

Don't need to read a magazine to know how he plays, been down to Green River many times with people to play him.

Underrated doesn't know bounds. It's not underrated to APA players, underrated to men, underrated to women, it's underrated for the most part.
Also the APA might not be the best place to talk about players levels and underrated, I don't think that anyone is overly impressed with the talent in the apa so for sure to them he is not underrated.

I think this is a fair atatement, I agree with you. I think the biggest reason you think he is underated is becaues he is not a hussler. He actually has a job. He has retired from the car business. He doesnt play people just to take there money. He is a respectable gentleman. Take the name Jeremy Brown for example. More people have heard of him because he is a husler. He makes his living at this. Fact is, Gentry is twice as good as Brown. Bobby Newvoe is another good player down there.. I could go on and on. I have seen Gentry play for a lot of money, both winning and loosing. I do agree that he maybe is a little less known, but not underated. The mark of a good money playing poolplayer I think, is staying unknown so that you can attract more business sort of speak.
