Info on cue

I found a pool cue that is in an older case and has 3 parts to it. I am not a pool guy and know nothing about it other than it has a handle and two different tips. Obviously one for breaking and one for playing I would guess. The only thing I can find on it as to a manufacture is in the handle and it says "Le Corporation Original". I cannot seem to find anything on it. Any help is much appreciated.

Sure looks like an old high grade Palmer. Would have to look in the book to see exactly what model, etc, but I'm prety sure it's a Palmer from the late 60's- mid-70's vintage. I'm sure the Palmer collector on this site can give you chapter and verse. Nice cue!
 
Maybe it's the pics, but the wood on that thing looks to be D grade. And it's in 3 parts. I'd say cheap Chinese stick. The case does not look old either, handle is cleanly moulded plastic, no tears, etc...
 
Looks like a really nice cue.

I doubt it's an import.
Made by Palmer possibly.
It also resembles these Gandy-National cues.

I'd like to add that I have a Palmer model M from the 2nd catalog...beautiful to look at.

As far as playing ability? It hits like I'm playing with a galvanized pipe.

My Keith Josey has a much better feel.
 
It's a Palmer Model 11 from the 1960's with a customized butt , and that's a Palmer case too. This is an early cue , 1964 or 1965. The cue is made from macassar ebony with geniune mother of pearl inlays. It's definitely a collectible cue. You can PM me for a market value.

Thanks - one of the members PM'd me. Yes, first catalog Model 11 custom.

They built the forearms and handles all at once in batches, then the butt was put together custom and the shafts fitted. The reason why I know this one is an early one is because it doesn't have the pearl dots under the joint. Starting in about 1966, they added a few inlays in the joint area.

I would like to see what sort of upper latches the case has. It's a Palmer case but I can't tell from the photos which year.

I love what the car guys call "found in a barn" stories...Care to share how you "found" this old Palmer?
 
How I found it

A businessman has died and the company was sold with all buildings. One of the building was basically his storage. The new company basically said the building is getting torn down and a friend of a friend told me about this place for industrial supplies, fans, heaters, shelves, etc. I noticed a few personal things I wanted and helped the guy with some things. I found the cue and a friend told me it looked valuable and so the story goes!
 
Good story...Glad the cue got rescued, and will eventually end up in the hands of a collector.
