Thinking of ordering a new Tim Scruggs cue, does Tim still make the cues himself? How long is the waiting period, and is a Scruggs worth the trouble?

Tim is still builind cues at his shop.
Depending upon what style of cue you want is going to determine the waiting period, But I personally inquired about a cue on his site, # 25 , is a 4 point cue with a little inlay,He said about 7 months, and for him, that is ACTUAL time, Hes really a solid man, Look up his web site, TIM Scruggs Cues.
If you pan on playing with a Scruggs, you should LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
He has an excellent reputation,
I hope this helps

Is Scruggsinhand the same as Nick Sardula??

You can always call or email Tim or Mike --The phone number and email link is on the Scruggs website. I understand, Mr. Scruggs is scaling back his time building cues towards a retirement date set out maybe 2 years. (?) Long time partner Mike Cochran is now building a limited # of cues with his own brand.

If I were thinking of ordering a TS cue i'd call Tim's shop and talk to him personally. His contact info is http://www.timscruggs.com/ and he's a great guy to talk to. One of the best in the cue business IMO.

Tim is a great guy....

...Having just been at his shop, and buying a cue from him personally, I'm here to tell ya...you CAN'T go wrong in working with him on a cue. He's super nice, super smart, and really loves the cue biz.

Drop him a line and work out the details with him, 1 on 1. You won't be sorry.

Take care,

Rat

I've had several of Tim's cues in the past and all were great players. If you are looking for a good cue that you won't have to wait long to get, Erik Lee has a really nice one, not too fancy on his website right now. www.erikleecues.com

I believe reverse points as that cue are pretty rare out of his shop.

I think Eric has a TS on Ebay.
He does....and I think it's the same one he had advertised here. Bidding is going pretty well on it...but still FAR cheaper than getting one brand new! I'm toying around with trying for it, myself....still feeding my addiction! :)

I called Tim and Mike sometime in April and they sent me some samples of leathers and veneeers so I could get an idea of what I wanted on my cue. They just started building my cue, so yeah, they're still building them. I have one of his sneakies and it's nice. I thought to myself, well if he's scaling back in the next few years this would be the best time to get something exactly the way I wanted. I don't think he has a wait list since I called in April and the ball just got rolling. I was told the build time would be 6-7 months as well.

If you have the cash and truely want something of your own design go for it. If you don't mind someone else's design get one used, much cheaper that way.

I am Karen in hand! :)

That is my wife! Beats any cue in the world. When you go to Tim's site www.TimScruggs.com all you need to ...t up and my jaw will drop as always. Nick:)

Nick and I are the same in our love for timmy's cues...:)

Tim and Mike are top notch people and cue builders....none better in my opinion..not that I am biased or anything...:D

TS or MC cues

I will just add to what everyone else has said;you wont regret purchasing a cue from Tim and Mike.I am not a particularly strong player but i have owned a lot of cues and been in the business world over 25 years and i can tell you for certain there are no better cues or no finer gentlemen to do business with.Is it worth the trouble?I wouldnt sell my cues they made me for twice their market value.Mike Sellers
