Instruction From The Youtube World

isn't this that jackass aoyster who keeps holding landonshuffett.com hostage?

The clip (the one that wasn't removed >_<) is just montage of faux-intellectual crap that tries to make pool look like more math than it really is, probably because he understands that's what the public expects. All the time I hear "oh, you're good at pool? wow you must be really good at geometry!" ...I think the people who say that are the ones he's trying to lure =P

Pool (as any other thing) is just as much math as you could ever want it to be. I wouldn't necessarily call it "faux intellectual crap" just because:

A) you don't understand it, or
B) you realize you don't NEED to know it to be a good player

lol @ youtube link. I played one like this not too long ago but she was more discreet. She waits until YOU'RE shooting before bouncing up and down.

micah: don't assume I don't understand something just because I call it crap =) I'm pretty handy with geometry and physics. The point I'm making is it doesn't impress me to see KE = (?)MV? or whatever... and it shouldn't impress anyone else either. If anyone is going to go a pool school based on seeing something like that, they've been duped. It's not that it isn't worth learning, it's just that if you're paying money to learn it you're robbing yourself and could be investing your money better.

Hopefully aoyster is only putting that stuff in the promo to impress newbies, and he switches to simple and more practical stuff like 90 & 30 deg. rules once they're successfully lured into a classroom (though I wonder if he isn't shooting himself in the foot by making pool knowledge look more intimidating and boring than it really is)

My god this guy is an incredible tool. The more I read about him the more I hate him. Fake Aussie accent and all!
