Insurance Question

I have been throwing around the idea of making sure my cues are insured and am curious about a value. Rough ideas are fine this is just to give me an idea of what there is.

McDermott D-13: Original as can be with a few dings but overall in good shape.

Chad Carter Plain Jane: Curly Maple forearm and butt sleeve, leather wrap, two shafts

Jeff Olney 5 Point: I'm not sure what the wood is in this cue. I'm sure if I put a photo up someone could tell me. Two dings in the butt sleeve, clean otherwise.

I paid $40 for the McDermott and have a feeling it is worth more, the Carter was ordered custom and I know what it is worth. What is an idea of the value of the Olney. I paid 400 and have a feeling I did ok but I am not sure how ok.:o

Thanks
Jered

If you have access to the Bluebook or someone here can look it up and give you book value. Of course that doesnt mean you would get that much with the economy but would help you on how much each cue is worth and how much you need on insurance.

400 for an Olney is a great deal IMO. I'm not sure I've seen one of his cues I WOULDNT own.

uasally these policies are sold by the $1000.00 incriments I carry 100k on my mechandise when traveling to shows years cost is around $900.00 this covers at home and away I am sure that 10 or 15k insurance would be less then 200.00 year or less you might also add a rider on your home owners i go both ways so i am covered even more hope this helps

I insured 3500 worth of cues for 85 dollars a year through my home owners insurance company.

Most Homeowners

Most HO policies cover a certain amount with deductible...call your agent and talk with them.

Just remember that you're not insuring for market value, you're insuring for what it would cost you to replace them if they got stolen or destroyed, which would probably mean buying new.

That is the problem.... Paying too much for coverage is dumb but I have no idea what replacement would cost. I'm guessing the Olney 5point would be around 650 but that may be too much. As for the McDermott D-13 I am lost.

Thanks all for the advice and ideas; they are greatly appriciated.

That is something that needs done. The issue is more of theft from the pool hall or some other source of loss that is unpredictable.

Thanks again
