Integrity Lost/ Jump Cues

14.1 -- Under WPA (world standardized) rules, the equipment specifications apply for 14.1 the same as for 8-ball, 9-ball, and 10-ball. The only requirements on the size of a cue are that it be at least 40" long, at most 25 oz. in weight, and at most 14mm in tip width.

One Pocket -- The WPA does not have rules for the game of One Pocket. Under the "Official One Pocket Rules" published by OnePocket.org, the rules on jumping are as follows:
"Players may use jump shots in One Pocket as long as they are performed with the player's own standard playing cue using legal jumping techniques as defined in General Rules. Specialized jump cues are not permitted in One Pocket.

Please note that many players, poolrooms and tournament directors have differing opinions on specialized jump cues. It is recommended that players check with their opponent, the 'house man' or the tournament director prior to an important match to come to agreement on whether specialized jump cues shall be permitted or not."

Wow, frost pulled out a jump cue on reyes during their race to 8 match. When reyes said they were illegal scott says they are ok. Reyes let him shoot with it. And by the way, Efren has one and so does Earl.

Every game/sport evolves. That comes directly from competition. Poeple are always trying to find a way to be better and find a skill in the game/sport that they are better at then the other player.

I'm curious if the same argument was made the first time someone thought to purposely shoot a safety? was safety play brought into the game from by players trying to beat their opponent or was it already there.

Soft break
Masse
pattern racking
ball in hand 8 ball
fast cloth- for crying out loud- we all love it mostly, but it did make the some games easier.

all evolutions in the game and there we'll be more to come. we can maintain the spirit of the game by how we the players play and handle the changes, but it will inevitably evolve.

That is exactly what the rules should be in ALL pocket billiard games.

well, if Schmitty was on 526 and needed to jump a ball for the record?....it better be with his playing cue or I will puke in my shorts! and never ride a motor cycle in the rain again!

Willie friggin Mosconi WOULD NOT! use a jump cue...I just called him and he said so.......so there!

Efren has a jump cue because he is getting old and needs it for a back scratcher. He did use a jump cue in the 1926 all world open, but missed the ball and Irving Crane ran 200 and out on him. The jumper lay dormant for many many years after in shame.

Later on the jump cue made a come back, but only with the very efemminate of users that mostly had mullets, drove 1977 ford Pintos, liked ABBA, and thought bar tables were actually pool tables!
