Listen guys, let's face it. The reason why some games thrive and have lots of views & watchability is a game being intense. We human beings love excitement, love drama & intense.

How intense? The type of intensity where a matter of few seconds/minutes a game result can be changed. Yes i mean the whole result of a match can be determined within minutes/time.

Which means, we need time!! Not shot clock, but overall time!

Football(world)/soccer(americans) <--- this game is hella intesne, a game can be 0-3 and at the end of the second half almost end of match a team can score 3 goals in 3mins making it 3-3, then goes to penalties. That's intense!! Sometimes a game can be 2-1 and at the end of the match, the losing team will have so much pressure that will make your jaws drop, yes its that intense!!

How can we make pool intense? & add drama at the same time, its easy. Add TIME, lets mix a fixed duration for a game with FIXED player time <-- From chess.

Lets see how that goes, lets not say "race to blah blah" let them play for the fixed time & fixed player time and see the final score is, if its tied we go to penalties. I don't got no voice with matchpoolroom but try to give this message to Emily, she can get things done.

30min a match and two buttons at the table like chess, if you finish your shot you must click your own button, the player also has fixed time just like chess. (Dont confuse this with shotclock, its an overall time for the whole duration of the match, u can take ur time and think but it will COST you).

This idea -- more or less -- has been proposed here several times before. You could look it up. "Chess clock" will get you there.

I saw a Markulis one pocket match, lol.
These two player shot/lol....way faster that most any/Any 9 baller I've ever seen, why?
Because they didn't haaaaaaaaaaaaave to walk around the table for their next shot, I had to not watch, it was tooooooooooo fast, and had very little thought process going on. Be like a Grandmaster chess player making there move every 5 seconds.

I think in other to enjoy this game you have to fully understand what is going on, otherwise if you don't find it attractive to you can change the channel to badminton!!!
I find golf extremely boring but is because I don't understand the game enough( nothing to do with rules) I think in order to enjoy the game to its maximum expression you must be a dedicated player otherwise you will never get it.

Too easy to get a small lead then play safe to prevent the opponent from catching up and running out the coock. Too prone to abuse, IMHO.

I don't watch golf either but can appreciate the coverage and production of their tournaments. Pool could take a lesson or two.

Imagine if every table had coverage. The viewer is presented every great shot in the tourney. They can go back and forth between hotly contested matches by guys that might not presently have a chance at getting to the final table. Show the shots gone wrong. Put names to the faces , and characters, in the pool room other than the top few that currently dominate all the current coverage.

If golf was presented like pool we would get an overhead shot of the fairway while listening to two guys talk about how they would hit the shot.
