How am I supposed to show Hopkins my moves if I'm dragging my laptop around the table by my headphones cord?
Seriously though, I think I get it, but to be sure. The student talks, listens & watches via headphones/ computer while the instructor talks, listens and demonstrates on the table?
Novel idea Dave. Best of luck!
I suppose you could, although I don't see a lot of that going on. Most of the education will be moves, strategy, practice techniques, pattern play, and scenarios. All of the above can be taught without lugging your laptop to the table.
I'm sure if Allen or John wanted to watch you play, you can setup your laptop by your table with a webcam. After all, when I first showed Schmidt how it works a few months ago, I did just that. I had my little logitech webcam pointing down to the 14.1 rack - with the rest of the table in the view area.
So I setup a break shot and start running out while listening to John tell me how to pick apart the rack. It was really cool. Then, I hear him say... play faster...speed up some...get into a rhythm. Next thing ya know, I started to dog everything.
I guess I had performance anxiety. Playing straight pool in front of John is like banging some chick in front of John Holmes.
Anyways, you CAN do it and it works better than one would think. However, stuff like that won't be the primary focus. For most of these sessions, it's assumed that you're already a high-intermediate to advanced player. Beginners probably won't spend money for knowledge when they can't make a straight-in shot.
This won't be like getting golf lessons from your local pro. It's a better analogy to say this site is an educational resource for your local "players" to get better--- not for the APA level 4 who wants to get better. I might be wrong, but it's just my opinion.
P.S. You can show someone how to execute online, but it would take a pool instructor who is very computer literate and willing to learn how to do it. Haven't found one yet. If there's an instructor who considers themselves an A-level home computer user, PM me... I'll send ya in.
