Interesting Cue on Auction

Judging from the wrap.......could be from the late 60's early 70's. I am doing some research........I am a little gun shy about anything on EBay..........

The ring above the wrap is very interesting - could that be a broken cue after a major surgery? But that shaft joint + the thick silver ring remind me of szamboti.

Gus's rings were a little thinner. I'm inclined to go with something a little earlier. I don't want to use the "B" word......but, it could be. The guy listing it has perfect feedback. I'm intrigued. I think the cue is older than it looks.

Well, I'm more intrigued now. The ring above the wrap was a common element of design for a certain cue maker.....whose cues are highly sought after.

It doesn't look like straight grain maple. I was under the impression that George only used straight grain. Looks like maybe an old Tascarella IMO. Maybe one of the older ones with "Bushka" parts used

i kinda had tascarella in mind too when i saw the joint rings and the pad under the tip..

Seller seems to know to much about cues to not be aware of this being something special, IMHO. If someone on AZ gets it, please let us all know if it proves to be anything special. This seller is gonna get a big payday and have no idea why or be giggling like a little girl all the way to the bank if it is a knockoff of some sort.

I WAS also one of the bidders of this cue.... I was going to take a gamble and see if I could get it for cheap.... aint happening now I guess.

I think this cue was sold on ebay before...I'm assuming the buyer who bought it...is now reselling it. It when for about 600.00 last time. Not a bad cue for $600.00 but I won't touch it just based on the linen wrap alone. Not to mention, this seller knows about cues..so you kind of figure he not going to let this one go for cheap if he hadn't already validated this cue not to be one of the great. Good Luck to the highest bidder.

Duc.
