saw this one a while back, been playing around with it.

situation: playing 8-ball (in this example), shoot the 9 and get shape on the 8.

just thought i'd share and see if anyone's seen this one. not too hard if you can masse.
 
Use low right...make QB come off long rail between the pocket and the row of balls. QB then comes off rail...hitting the second ball from the rail and kisses over to 2nd diamond on rail you made 9-ball in. Shoot 8-ball in...do dance. Johnnyt
 
ok, ok. use no rails and touch no other balls. i was putting that wall there to make that obvious. i gotta work on my obviousness.

or use top left englisch and use the balls as an extra rail, and then go upper left, down left rail (2rails) for perfect position on the 9

but jumping over the balls seems the way I would shoot it too



edit: bank the 9 in the top botem corner ?

We're playing 8-ball here. You need position on the 8. Johnnyt
 
look at the damn second page already. this isn't "how would you do it?" more like "can you do it?"

well, it shows a masse shot (can you still call it masse if there's no curve?). well, it's a masse stroke anyway... the CB just turns left after hitting the 9, dropping straight down to the bottom rail for the 8. not as hard as it looks, i think.

I have learned this from Ron Park and Vicent Romano of NYC, although I never fully mastered it. :o
