I am planning a trip to Tempe, AZ during the first week in April,,, have been looking for side trips along the way,,, saw in a billiards magazine that there is an EXPO in Houston, TX on April 6-8,,,,can anyone give me any info about this event,,, also, is anyone planning to attend,,, thanks, jflan

The BCA Expo will be at the George R. Bown Convention Center in downtown Houston. The event details can be found on the BCA homesite. I can tell you for sure that THE tournament to be at during that week in Houston is going to be the 1 Pocket/ 9-ball event that will be held Thursday April 6- Sunday April 9 at Bogie's in North Houston. The event information has been posted at onepocket.org's tourney page. That same Thursday, Earl S. will be inducted into the HOF downtown at the Hilton? Not sure but I think that's the hotel. Again, you can check the BCA website.

If your gonna be in town that week, you should really make the trip to Bogie's for those tourneys and/or side action if that's your flavor. Last years winners were Jeremy Jones in the 1P and Charlie Bryant in the 9-ball so I'm anticipating they will be trying to defend their titles.

I have also been asked to attend a billiards expo / fair in Houston, April 2 -9th or something like that.

I'd appreciate if anyone can give some insights into this event? Is it one of the premier fairs for Billiard's exhibitors from overseas producers to attract US based buyers?

btw: I was told it was a CBA event. Not sure if that is right or what it stands for.

The BCA show is a trade show. If I'm not mistaken, you need to be a BCA member or a guest to attend. I don't think it's open to the general public.

INDEED ! ,,,seems like they are limiting attendance by only lettin' BCA members in,,,, they should let legitimate business people in,,, most BCA members that I know are not going to order anything in quantity, 'cause they belong to the BCA to play in some bar league !!!! JMHO !

League membership is different from the retail membership. Most retail stores that sell tables and cues are members.
