niels makes the one, plays 2 8 combo left with a tough cut on the 2 (half the length of the table near the long rail 3 on the short rail, in the middle), makes it perfect speed dead position on the 3, runs out the rest of the rack like clockwork, niels up 3-1 thorsten has the break

hohmann breaks and comes up dry again, seems the relatively soft break he is using is not working, leaves feijen a tough cut on the one, and tough to get on the two, he makes it and has another thin cut on the two needing reverse to hold position for the three...makes it...runs to the 9 no problem, but then comes up short leaving a tough cut in the side on the nine but makes it. niels up 4-1 with the break

thorsten breaks, forced to slightly masse around the 9 to make a 2 6 combination makes that, pretty standard out after that

feijen makes the 1 in the side, and the 2 as well, fairly straightforward out, good shooting by feijen and hes up 3 1, break to hohmann

thorsten makes the 5 on the break switching to a harder break, left with a 1 6 combo, makes it and leaves himself perfect on the 1, gets to the 3 and misses (only the second missed shot of the match so far), feign capitalizes for a 4 1 lead and the break on the hill

feijen makes the 1 in the side, and the 7, but has to push out on the two. feijen makes a terrible push, but hohmann misses a makeable shot anyway, he is definitely not playing as well as feijen, he gets lucky on the miss and leaves feijen no shot though, feijen returns the safety. hohmann makes a wonderful kick on tje 2 with position on the 3, has t shoot over the 9 though and goes a bit long in position, makes the 4 but has a tough cut on the 5 which he makes, solid out from there. 4 2 feijen hohmann has the break. he really woke up this rack!

nothing on the break again! hohmann's break is killing him. feign is working, but his out is pretty textbooks so far, got a bit straigh on the 5 and had to force draw back and forth (the short side) of the table to just get out enough for the 6; and an easy out from there to win the set 5 2 and the match 2 0

It is starting to look like it. Let see if Van Van can handle the Scorpion's sting.

corteza wins the lag, soft break 1 in the side, hs to push out, johnny takes it and safes corteza behind the 5, corteza gets his jump cue out. makes it, but gets unlucky has to kick at the three and makes that with decent position on the 4 easy out from there . corteza 1 0 break to archer

archer corteza set 1 rack 2

archer soft breaks, nothing goes, corteza misses a fairly easy 1, archer tries but fails to get a good safe in, corteza misses a pocket speed bank...leaves the 1 hanging for archer who then runs to the eight and gets a bit straight, but finishes anyway w 1 break to corteza

corteza breaks and makes the one in the side but leaves the cue in the left foot pocket for the second time and has to play a poor safety, leaves johnny with a tough shot witch he misses.but leaves only a kick at the 2 which he misses. johnny takes advantage and plays a lock up safety behind the six. corteza is forced to take a foul but complicates the table for jonny by tying up a ball. with ball in hand tries a difficult 2 9 but leaves the 9 just outside the side. corteza nicks the 2 in a very courageous choice (instead of pocketing the v and being defensive) he only just barely hit the 2 , johnny gets to the 4 where corteza earlier made trouble on the table. johnny tries to get to the 9 from there, but miscalculated and double kissed the 4 instead. from that easy position corteza handily runs out. 2 1 corteza break to archer

archer breaks and comes up dry, capitalizes on a missed 3 ball by corteza to run out a tougher rack. 2 2 score.

corteza breaks, makes the 1 in the side, banks the 2 cross side to set up for an easy run to an easy 5 9 combo which he makes

archer breaks and runs, some more difficult shots, but pretty textbook score 3 3

corteza breaks and runs to the three but misses (again! he must hate the three!) johnny takes it from there to the 6 which he tries to bank and makes it on one extra rail, easy sailing from there to the nine for the 4 3 lead

archer breaks and makes the 7 but has to push. leaves a very long and thin cut for corteza but he misses his try. archer plays a great safe but corteza gets out of it, he, however, leaves johnny a shot on the one which leaves an easy path to run out to the nine, make it and take the first set 5-3

corteza breaks and runs again he's in dead stroke!

archer dry again and corteza has almost adopted luc salvas' style at this point barely even waiting for the cue to stop, heas out again for a 4 lead.

corteza breaks and makes the 1 and 2 but has a very tough shot on his arch nemesis the 3 ball which he misses, johnny takes a deep breath and walks away with one to bring it to 4-1 corteza, archer has the break

archer runs out rack 6 to bring it 4 - 2 corteza

corteza breaks and finally misses the 1 in the side opening the door for archer. archer has to push and leaves. corteza hands back a shot where the cue is practically in the corner pocket, and the 1 in the middle of the short rail, johnny nails it, but later in a difficuly 6 to 7 position shot goes just a little too long and fails to pocket the 7 leaving an easy out for corteza to win the 2nd set 5 - 2
on to sudden death!
