somewhat anticlimatically corteza breaks and runs to win setting up for a corteza feijen final

Go Lee Van!!! He is not the current Philippine National champion for nothing!!!

It will sure be exciting!!! 50 000 $ to the winner.

Interesting to think about:

50 000 $ = 2 300 000 Philippine Pesos. Monthly average salary in Philippines, maybe 10 000 Pesos. So 230 montly salaries if Corteza wins.

50 000 $ = 36 000 €. Monthly average salary in Holland, maybe 2 750 €. 13 monthly salaries for Feijen if he wins.

Who will be most nervous? Who is the victory most important for?

I guess I would never rush on a shot if I could win 230 monthly salaries for a poolmatch (1 100 000 million $)............... The voice in my head would repeat Check position, aim, relax, follow through all the time :D

I like both players. But there will only be one winner. My sentimental favourite is Lee Van Corteza but it could go either way. Who do you think will win and why?

Feijen is more experienced both on winning tournaments, playing finals and play on tv-table. He is the player with the best average finish on the eurotour the last year, and he is my favourit to win in almost any tournament he enters.

But, I have seen Van Van do 10 Break & Run against Orcullo earlier this year, from 18 - 11 behind to turn the match around and win 23 - 19. The most impressive play I have seen in my life, I think.

But I think Feijen will bring it home to Europe, just as he did with Derby City Classic 9-ball earlier this year.

that's right

i think it will take a lot of heart and skills to be a national champion in pool specially in the phillipines.

corteza feijen set 1

corteza wins the lag almost freezing the ball to the foot rail and proceeds to break and run, still in dead stroke.

feijen breaks but ends up scratching on the 3 (that damned 3!) and corteza runs out from ball in hand

then another beeak and run for corteza to bring it to 3-0.

feijen breaks and runs for 3-1

corteza breaks and runs for 4-1

feijen breaks and makes a ball but has no pocket for the one and plays safe, corteza plays a great 2 rail kick safe back and then feijen fails to contact the one giving ball in hand to corteza for the run out to win the game and match 5-1

more updates please!!

this is sweet!! thanks to you pple!!
I am really curious who's going to win.

if corteza wins I'll give him 7 out next time I see him.

lol....

corteza feijen set 2

feijen breaks and has a thin cut on the one but makes it and should be out, but mises the 8, corteza, amazingly misses a 2 foot straight in shot on the eight and hands it back to feijen for 1-0 feijen

corteza breaks and runs to the 4 has to play 4 6 combo and unfortunately makes both leaving a hard shot on the 5. instead of a possible safe he tries a long thin cut and misses again handing it to feijen

feijen breaks and makes the 1 but has to push, he leaves a tempting choice for corteza and he misses a difficult combo leaving the table open for feijen to bring the match to 3-0

corteza breaks and comes up dry, but with nothing but a possible jump shot to the one, feijen elects to push to a bettr jump position. corteza immediately tells feijen to take the shot and he clips the 2 giving corteza ball in hand, from which he runs out to 3-1 feijen

feijen breaks and runs for 4-1 feijen

corteza break and run for 4-2 feijen

battery getting very low hopefully ill be able to finish this....

niels breaks and hs a 2-9 combo to go to sudden death
feijen wins the lag but has a very difficult 2 ball shot, forced to play safe on the 3 corteza tries to jump out but scrates feijen runs out to win from ball in hand

yee haa, nice commentary! Give him a high five, he deserved to win after his shirt foul incident yesterday. Great recovery!! Go Niels!!

Battery died *immediately* after posting the final post, lucky I guess!

Sorry for the crappy grammer and short posts, but typing on a phone while also trying to watch - not so easy.

First time I made the trek to uncasville for this thing...managed to come back exactly $1 up - anytime you don't lose you win right?
