As much as i loathe the WPA this event IS the de-facto 'WORLD 14.1 Championship' and should carry a WPA blessing. Much more weight than the last few put on by C. Williams.

Well, yes, but... Either some rich guy has to step up with about $180,000 to reach the WPA-required amount of added money of $200,001, or the WPA has to relax the requirement for 14.1, as they did for some of CW's events.

I guess its the " Official Un-Official World 14.1 Championship", sanctioned by AZBilliards. ;)

For all the World 14.1 championship talk, I really wonder whether this event features a stronger field than the European 14.1 Championship. Most of the top straight poolers are European, and many of them aren't in this field.

Still, this shapes up as a fine event.
