I am curious. I see people throwing big numbers around like 4 -6 Mbs on DSL....what is the true stable up and down speed of these connections. My experience is that most providers turn into used car salesmen when it comes to connection speed. In other words are you really getting these super speeds?

http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?java=1 for a speed test.

This is me on Midco cable in BFE South Dakota:

I'm on Comcast cable and got this result.

And yes this is pool related....we all need good conections to see PPV on TAR, IPT, and others.:D Johnnyt

The main reason I ask about the real speed, is we get a few calls that all symptoms point to a slow connection but people say they have X number down...the cable guy told them so... but the performance just isn't there.

I don't know a whloe lot about this intranet crap other than at times it seems like black magic.

I cant wait till they make a mobile broadband system that really is high speed. It is a huge pain getting good connections in hotels and pool rooms.

Johnny that is a pretty sporty internet hook up you got there...should have no problems there as long as it is stable.

clockspeed and ram and such would also have impact i believe

I live 5 miles from Geek ground zero (Intel campus) and Intel/Verizon has 300 homes including mine wired up to this T-1 fiber optic thing that costs me fifty bucks a month. Should I cancel this ??

danny - you might save a few bucks bundling up ISP with TV and phone, depending on the latter two. see what comcast has.

Thank you. It gets your PPV real well. Never have a problem and picture is very clear on my 24" monitor. Johnnyt

Sitting here on the wireless connection at Metro Sports Bar in PHX I get:

1097
419

I will have to test my speed when I get home.

I am very happy to see so many fast connections out in AZ land!!!
