Introduction to pool as a hobby

In other sports there is film study, physical therapy and training.

For pool its all about hyping up the tournament. Being the person at a public place telling people to join them at a bar, then hand them the business card.

The life of a hobby pool player is helping others become a pool player. Its like a cult?
You know... everything you have ever posted here... you couldnt be more off base... like you are just completely clueless.

Well justnum bid just not realistic in his expectations.

A person with education from finest schools is just educated. Your best like experiences are leaned on job.

Kids years ago go business sense selling lemon aid, with paper routes, selling newspaper or magazine subscriptions door to door.

Today most kids have never done anything like nasty job, for minimal pay.

Mommie & Daddy give money for nothing.

pool rooms are closing and your best idea is to complain?
You don't even go to them!

You are brand fucking new to this hobby/sport whatever. Your business card bullshit and no amount of dumb ass videos is going to save a poolhall. I'm in them. Multiple times a week. Spending money on food, table time and drinks. Gambling with the regulars and getting in local tournaments. I have over a dozen custom cues. I have another 2 on the way. I have put my money into this game. I am a walking advertisement for pool and for pool companies and cuemakers I am loyal to.... and with all that being said, that doesnt even scratch the surface compared to other people's involvement.

Honestly, you are beyond clueless. There are smart people here. Industry people here. People with money here. People who have actually made meaningful and logical contributions to pool... and you know what.... 1. You are not one of them.... 2. Poolhalls are still closing.

You have no damn clue about the game, the companies associated with it, the people associated with it, what it takes to get new players involved and what it take to run a poolhall and what it takes to keep one open or even make it profitable.

All you do is come on here and post ridiculous shit and call yourself a professor. Like I said in a previous thread of yours. You are a poser. You don't know shit about shit... you just happened to pick a forum and hobby where the veterans of it are trained to see through someone else's bullshit...

Seriously, you naivety really shines here. If you spent a year actually going to poolhalls and learning the game an even matching up in any form of semi-serious competition, you would realize how much of an ass-hat you sound like.

If you have existing skills and are trying to get into pool, then I suggest:

programming a 14.1 AI algorithm

Unlike 9 or 10 ball creating a computer opponent for straight pool or one pocket can be rewarding.

Pool doesn't just have to be about pocketing shots. Many hobby communities are large enough to include people that don't just want to pocket balls all day.

I been saying that for years. Rolling balls around is great fun, watching them bounce and collide. They sound cool too. Who needs pockets for that?

Well, hobbies are one of the best things for the mind and soul. Addictions denote something out of control. A disease is harmful and sometimes deadly. All of life comes down to choices,
Which reminds me of the old saying:: "A good pool player is a sign of a misspent youth"..........

No, my best Idea is to spend as much time at the pool hall as possible, and offer advice to lesser players in order that they enjoy themselves to a higher degree and have a higher probability of coming back again and again.

This is not done through writing, posting, or videos, or annoying people on forums such as this; it is done in person from your own pool (sic) of time, energy, and creativity.

I do this at my local bar in order to bring pool players up to higher level of play, and this makes playing them more enjoyable to me, even when I lose more often.

They should create a game centred around that. Just three balls, and you try to hit the other balls...no no no, too easy, maybe if you had to hit three cushions first? Or perhaps drew some lines on the table. I think I'm on to something. It would probably be pretty popular in Europe and Asia.

ive been advocating for pool table ownership. i have posted a variety of videos showing how developmental a pool table can be for the mind.

i schedule trips to the pool hall. each time has a specific purpose based on my training plan.

They do! It’s called billiards. Has 3 balls. Real simple 😂🤣😉

I wish I actually learned how to be a GOOD pool player in my youth-LOL----back in the 60s nobody wanted to share any information on the correct way to play the game, you just watched and tried to figure it out yourself - Regarding pool- my youth was not mis- spent- but my time at the table certainly was mis- spent in terms of learning the game correctly :) :)

Let us see if it is good for the mind:
No capitalization,
No apostrophes to indicate possessive
Missing adjective in second sentence to indicate whether pool is {good bad or indifferent} for the {developing} mind
No connection between pool table ownership and topic
You speak only of yourself and not of how to help others nor how to help pool
In ability to read, hear, or comprehend that your drivel is not benefiting this forum.

There is no evidence that, for you, pool has been good for your mind, and no evidence that you helped anyone else at pool to make it good for them, you, or pool in general.

So, grade==FAIL == F-.
