Damn...I was going to try to make it out there with Shane so I could play in the women's event. Was going to skip out of the WPBA event early when I thought it started on Saturday but no way I can make it on Friday. Maybe next year
Thats what players like him do WHEN they lose. And then when they lose gambling it even gets worse. If he had an ounce of sense he would play w/ his mouth wired shut and his cue tied to his hand so he can't throw it. Then and only then would I wish him good luck. Its too bad the talent he has is overtaken by his attitude.

I just got back from the second biggest tournament in Iowa...the IOMA...it's the VNEA equivilent of the ISPA. I have to say, even though there were a lot of people and some good pool played, it seemed a little (lot) caotic to me. An aweful lot of sitting around waiting for them to call you to play. No matches were scheduled (timewise) so you really couldn't leave because if they called your game and you weren't standing right there, they'd forfiet you out. It did seem to move right along...but I guess when you are only playing short races (2 or 3), it tends to be quick (fair??? you decide...it's a State Tournament).
All ISPA matches are scheduled from the beginning all the way to the end. Sure makes it convinient for planning. You can actually get a bite to eat (at a restaurant) because you know exactly when you need to be back.

You're wrong Scott, it's plenty BIAS...but it's all true. You should notice that I waited until I participated in the IOMA event to make my comparison. I thought that only fair.
BTW, congrate to you and Laura for your fine finishes. You're both shooting very well lately. Hope you do that well at the ISPA. See you there.

VNEA is always terrible, people were playing singles matches til 3-4am and had to be back for team matches at 8am the next day.
Do that 3 days in a row and tell me how well you are gonna play in the finals. If you happen to stay in the winners bracket you will be a little better off.
I had to play Cale for 4th place at midnight when the guy sitting in 3rd was told he did not have to play til the next day. I had just got knocked out of the team tournament and Cale was sleeping in his room. They said go get him you 2 are playing and thats final. Now what makes the differance if Cale and i both came back in the morning to play? How long does a race to 3 take?

I don't know if I had an advantage by still being in team, but I told the guy running the board that I WAS NOT ****ING playing @ 1am after I had been there since 8am. Maybe my language helped or the fact I was still in team. who knows!
My race to 3 w/ Cale took almost an hour and 45 minutes!
On a side note about the ioma tourney scheduling, I found that if you talked to the people running the boards and was nice about it, you could get a real good idea(with-in 20 minutes) of when you would play next. And as long as you didn't go 25 minutes away, you could go to a sit down lunch/dinner and enjoy it. Plus, you could have somoene that was staying there,keep an ear out for your name or keep an eye on your board.
I kinda liked playing alot of matches back to back. It kept me in stroke. But on the days I played from morning till nite, those took a toll on me as it showed in my match w/ Cale.
p.s. Closing down the poker room at the Isle every nite doesn't help either!

I know, i was just being sarcastic. We had two safety games that looked like one pocket games. In one game, I don't think either of us pocketed a ball for over 25 minutes!
I agree, was nonsense for you two to play especially since they had to physically go wake him up. You two were in no hurry to play since i was still playing team till 3pm sunday.

That's right, I forgot Troy won the WB. He plays pretty good for an OPEN player.......a couple years back he was spotting me....but whatever, you're always gonna have people who sneak in.
