Iowa State Poolplayers Invites All

hey ken,
who are the elite players this year?

We don't have a list of who is playing, but the usuals will probably be there...Jessie Bowman, James Baraks, Whitey Walker, Chad Vilmont, Josh Johnson, Jamie Fenton...I'm sure I missed some of the regulars...sorry, I'm getting old and can't remember too well.

I've gotten a number of calls from players wanting to know if they can just sign up Friday night. The answer is yes...if they are not still in one of the other singles events or on an Open Team. The Elite event is open to anyone, sanctioned ISPA or not.

Don't be shy, come play some with the big boys in Iowa.

I did think of you, Jamie, I just didn't include you for some reason...I think you did play last year didn't you? I didn't see Baraks name on your list...I suppose you are more informed that me on that one. I like watching all those guys play...really give a lesser player (like me) something to strive for.

Have you heard of any 'names' in the Womens Division yet? I'd like to see both Divisions grow. That really could add entertainment value to our amatuer event. I know it gets pretty crowded around those tables during a good match.

See next week...Ken

no idea i just get on here every once in a while to spout off!!! reminds of time when i actually could win! as for jamie i really dont know but he didnt play last year or did he?

I won't be playing at ISPA this year, but I was looking at start times and players who are playing in the Masters division. I was very surprised to see very small fields. I can only wonder if that is because 4 players are getting moved up to the elite division each year? But then I see there are two players that are on the Elite list playing in the Masters tournaments. Misprint perhaps? Or rule change?

I was never a big fan of the Elite division anyway, why not have a true state champion?

Uh.... explanation on this is imperative. If they are letting elites play in the masters that is something new that I wasn't aware of.

I hope not! I get to play in one event (not by my own choosing!), and I would really rather not play any pros, thank you very much. :)

There's a WPBA Classic Tour event that weekend so I don't think you have to worry about many pros showing up.

Karla...the Elites (sanction ISPA players) are being allowed to play in the Masters 9ball event with a 2 game spot. That was approved by the board in June. Sorry if you did not hear about it.

Mike...sorry to hear you won't be there this year. I don't think the players moving up to the Elite has hurt the Masters Division as much as players moving back down to the the Open. With the new point system, it will be harder for players to move down a Division in the future.

Ken this is Adam and Ryan Behnke i was not informed about being able to play in the 9 ball masters i was wondering if it was possible for us to be able to still play if we could be put in a TBA spot if so please let us know we are very interested in playing.

Thanks Adam and Rayn Behnke

Gravy Train? Does that mean you are on the Gravy Train or if someone plays you, THEY will be on the Gravy Train?

That's what I figured...I just wanted to make sure you weren't confused. Remember there is a dress code this weekend too.

Can you go in and watch these matches for free or is there a charge to go in. Also are there any cue dealers going to be there?
