Efren breaks dry. There are a couple of clusters.

Austin starts running. Sigel criticizes him for not "spinning the ball enough". Offers to give him lessons. Austin misses, not because he used centerball...

Reyes starts running but gets hooked. Make ridiculous cut shot in side pocket while breaking our problem cluster. Runs out perfectly.

I don't care much about the competitiveness of this match. I just love watching Efren pick apart a game of 8ball.

Reyes breaks dry.

Austin gets out of line after a few balls, but Efren has a few problems.

Sigel doesn't understand what Efren is doing. Efren plays one ball to half a pocket while trying to free problem ball. Makes ball but misses breakout. Turns over table on next shot.

Austin has safety options but stays aggressive. Runs out.

4-2 Reyes.
 
HAHAHA Mike continues to say "what the hell is Efren doing here?" Efren then continues to run out. Hilarious

Efren pockets a duck, then uses his next shot to break out cluster. Looks good to run out, but gets out of line. Sigel questioning tactics. Reyes recovers. Sigel apologizes for being a dumbass.

Efren wins. Up 5-2.
 
I don't know who is struggling more, Austin on the table or Mike on the commentary.
 
wtf is with all the mike critisizing man he knows what he's on about, i am enjoying his insights for one.

anyone else feel though that efren is going easy on austin? he knows he's struggling with the pressure and doesn't really want to destroy him.

That's why there wasn't a lot of betting. Everyone knows Efren can destroy him but they also know he has a heart of gold so you don't want to bet on Efren blowing him out and then find yourself mad at him for giving the kid a chance to shoot.
 
I think Efren is just playing shape a little looser and seeing what happens knowing that he can't lose. Austin is playing pretty weak, surely not near what he's sometimes capable of, but bottom line is he has no chance at all beating Efren missing two balls a rack.

Good experience for Austin, but its getting hard to watch. Why Shane wasn't picked instead of Austin still puzzles me to no end...

Shane wasn't available for this match, he wasn't even on the list. But there were plenty of great players to choose from.
