Linda , thank for the pictures! I was wondering who doing the cue repair at the tournament ?

Now that you mention it, I don't recall anyone doing cue repair.

Thank, Tammie! I thought its look like Joe setup, in the last picture posted by Linda. Linda I hope you will continue posting pictures from future tournaments.

OK, my bad. I never noticed anyone doing cue repair, lol.

I will continue to post pics, fuzzy and all. :) I have some from the finals I will get to later today. I have a conference call in a couple minutes.

Boy, am I tired! We got in at 3am and I had to get up at 6 to get a budget report done that was due by this morning. Darned work!

Dang, those are some huge score boards.

What were they doing as far as the match race values (i.e. 8 and something else) - did they have a pile of peel-and-stick numbers? Obviously they weren't scribbling all of those (though the numbers at the right of each board were hand-written).

The scores were peel and stick numbers. The stats were handwritten. All the display boards shown were printed/silk-screened beforehand...very professionally done and look just like the online score cards.

Other printing that was done and looked marvelous - the programs showing all entrants (except for the last minute replacements), special posters showing all entrants, the enlarged photos of billiard legends arrayed around the room, and copies of old tournament posters on easels as you walked down the red carpet into the room.

There were also some light projections cast onto the walls and carpet, as well as a dizzying laser light show with customized logo and patterns thrown onto the TV tables at the start and in between matches.

All the players got player carry-all bags with our names embroidered on them, filled with DVD's, a mug, T-shirt, hat, special NAO pin, and a folder with schedules, rules, forms, etc.

KT's new book was on sale for $10, but then were given out free during the Finals (as well as his first book). I cadged a copy of each to give to my girlfriend that has breast ca that has metastasized to her bones. :(

Finally putting up last 2 days of the NAO

Got my laptop plugged back in and decided to post the rest of the tournament.

This looks like Alex from the back, but it is Dennis Orcullo.

Most of the spectators were watching the matches in the Mother Ship - the TV tables.

The Lag - Efren and Dennis. I noticed many of the Filipinos grip with only a few fingers, like Dennis.

OK, these are both bad of Ralf and Thorsten, but thought I would put them up for anyone interested anyway.

OK, now these pictures are funny. They staged a showdown with the last 6 standing around the pool table, and they were supposed to stare each other down and look mean. Well of course, the biggest pussycats just kept cracking up. I also have it on video, but Efren and Ralf could just not maintain it and then, naturally, everyone else went into stitches.

They were there a long time because they just couldn't look mean very long. :p

The guy in the white suit is a TV guy. This is a good 45 minutes before the matches started so the stands are empty.
