Colin, thanks for th pics.

I'm curios about the balls in your photo. Are those the balls they are using in the event and if they are what kind are they and which CB ?

Thanks,

Mj

Yes, they are the balls being used.

All I know about them is that Rodney Morris commented that they are a bit lighter than the standard balls.

But I wonder if this could be an illusion because with the nap cloth, the CB will come back sooner without the appearance of spinning on the cloth so much.

Someone else probably knows the brand....anyone?

They look like Brunswick Centennials with the blue circle cue ball. Also, as to tightness, the pockets are the standard Diamond Pro pockets. They appear to play very fair for the most part.

Check out the picture of Allsion in the link below and enlarge it, it's the 2nd one down on the right. http://internationalpooltour.com/ipt_content/ipt_online_event/photo_gallery_day1c.asp#

The balls in that picture with Allison look exactly like Brunswick Centennials.
the ones in this link: http://www.brunswick-billiards.com/brunswick_collection/pocket_balls/tv_centennial_balls.html

The 1-ball in your picture is definately not like the ones shown in the picture from the IPT site.

Can you clarify ?

I was wondering about the nap cloth.

I learned how to play on 60-40 nap, but it's been a while. I was wondering Colin, does the nap cloth bite easier? and if so wouldn't swerve come into play more often?

They are not centennials. Centennials have a black border between the white area of the number and the main color of the ball.

This is a picture of Allsison from the IPT web site "Day 1 Image Scrapbook"

What kind of balls are in this picture ?
you can view a larger picture here: http://internationalpooltour.com/ipt_content/ipt_online_event/photo_day1/large_view/image_20.jpg

Now go back and look at the 1-ball in Colins original post.

They don't appear to be the same balls.

My question is, which balls are they playing the event with ?

Sorry Mike, I missed your earlier post. The balls Allison is using are definitely Centenialls. The black border and the two black enlarged areas on the inside of the border are dead giveaways. The balls Colin posted are not Centenialls.

Maybe they have different balls in the practice areas and the tournament areas???

I think the lower end of aramith have the skinny number as in Colins picture.

OK, I finally have the facts.

I just got off the phone with Shawn Putnam and he told me that they are using the Brrunswick Centennials with the original Blue Circle CB.

Colin, I don't know where you got that 1-ball from but please put it back.

Hi Mike,
I didn't even notice that. I took the pic on the warm up table, and someone must have put a couple of their own balls on there to test the Spider and accuracy tester...forget the proper name.

Anyway, yes, they are using Centenials with a blue circle cue ball.

Can anyone recommend where I should buy a set? I've been practicing using the 1-ball as a cue ball cause all the CB's are light where I practice:(

Um, just for the record (and because it's late and I'm tired), that's what I said!

Proficient Billiards has them listed for $169.00 US.

Nuh Uh, you said, "They look like Brunswick Centennials with the blue circle cue ball." You didn't say they WERE.
