IPT Question poll

I think we all know the ride is over, I'm sure it was good while it lasted. But you can't doubt its finished. Too much evidence to say otherwise.

Let see what you all think.

The IPT will hold another major event next year:
Just simply reply (yes) or (No)

Noodles, your instructions are too complex to follow.

I certainly think that they are in a definite death spiral. But it is the end of September and KT's silver tongue combined with the IPT players desire to believe him may be enough to put one more together.

So, my yes or no answer is ----- maybe one.

setup a poll if you want it simple :)

I hope we get, at least, one more tournament... I hate to think of reverting back to the old ways again... Now we go back to luck ball... At last the DCC is coming up. Thats always an exciting time of the year

Next year? At this point who cares about next year. Will there be another tournament this year? Will there be a qualifier tournament this week?

At this point if players do not get paid this week. Or if an explanation isn't forthcoming that explains the situation adequately to the players, then what is the point of entering any more qualifiers?

If no money or explanation by Friday, then the ride is over. Last one out of Dodge turn off the lights.

YES!!!!!!! and i do hope i'm right!

Wer uns das gluck raubt ist ein tieb das stimmt aber schlimmer ist der mensch der uns die hofnung nimmt!

free translation: You can take away our happiness but it's much more worse to take away someones hope!

For all that I've said I wish the IPT could have worked. It's clear they tried very hard to make this into something big. Doesn't matter what anyone says they did hold the largest cash prized pool tournament in history.

I know it looks as though I'm back pedaling from my previous statements but the fact is the IPT was very exciting for participants and non participants. This recent Reno incident seems unforgiving and I hope like everyone else the players get paid.

Lets hope its not the end of the ipt despite the lack of any news for reassurance.

I would rather eat humble pie than see the IPT die.

I know exactly how you feel - even with all of it's errors and problems it would feel like a loss for pool to see the demise of the IPT.

But with people like KT, there is no middle ground, there is no repentance, no admissions of wrongdoings, no apologies and no positive change. The more they get away with the bigger and bolder they get.

I believe what most people want from the IPT is a honest, fair and competative, well run tour that pays the players liveable purses, while showing the players and fans the respect that they very much deserve. That type of a tour would naturally, over time, get the industry support and public exposure that would serve the entire pool world well. KT will never develop anything like that, it's not his nature or desire.

I don't know what will or should happen to the IPT, won't even pretend to. But I do believe that somehow all of this has been mapped out by KT, and he knows exactly what is going to happen.

First off ...

I am not ready to close book on this. Deno stated that checks would go out within 3 weeks (I assume from the end of the tournament), so until we are into the 4th week with no mention from anyone that they have been paid, I am going to give the IPT the benefit of the doubt.

There very well could be things going on with HO, that have to be concluded before the checks go out, I don't know. But I do know one thing, the IPT is going to have to respond in 1 way or another before long.

in a coma

The IPT may not be dead but is definite comatose. No word from corporate, qualifiers averaging less than 4 players. One of the main reasons for low turnout at the qualifiers may be the cost associated with bringing the equipment up to IPT standards (cloth, balls, Sardo racks, and chalk) is an expense for room Operators. The IPT is there to collect their fees, $250 a table, and you get four players for the qualifier. This is a LOSING proposition for any room owner. Hosted a 130 player APA US Amateur qualifier this past weekend at no cost to me. Set sales records in most catagories for a very profitable weekend.

Oh by the way, the IPT still owes me, as a sponsor $1100 from the Las Vegas event this past July. They have been reconciling sponsorships for over 4 months. All appropriate paperwork has been filed with the IPT and still nothing. I'm more angry at being ignored than I am with the lack of payment.

The IPT needs to come clean and tell the true story of the status of their tour.

I still have a glimmer of hope that all will eventually get paid and the tour will become a success. As of today it doesn't look very promising.

We were told in Vegas that they wouldn't be paying out sponsor's and referrer's money until after Reno. I guess because they wanted a cumulative total of how all the qualifiers did in both tourneys?

Where is your evidence? That the players haven't been paid yet? Other than that I don't see anything that would indicate that the IPT is not financially solvent. We aren't hearing of employees or vendors not being paid. We haven't heard that Chicago is canceled.

A little too early to put the nails on the coffin in my opinion. And no I am not being a pollyanna about this. The US Open survived not paying the players and having it's founder land in jail. I wouldn't write the IPT off yet due to LACK of evidence. Sure hard to be positive though due to the lack of confidence that they give the FANS they so want to have as customers.

They sure want me to sign up for that membership and $5.95 a month thing. Why on earth should I just throw $30 away, why??

Are these just growing pains? I hope so.

I wouldn't consider it throwing $30 away for the access to the matches. The price is the same as 1 Accustats DVD and you get 8 ( I think) matches and hopefully access to much more.

Of course they want you to sign up. Would you expect the IPT - or any business - to tell you they are having problems but you should give them money anyway?

Let's take out the payment issues and the IPT would appear to be moving along just fine. For anyone coming across the IPT website who is NOT FAMILIAR with the discussions on AZ and the other forums to a MUCH LESSER extent, the IPT looks like the best thing in pool.

We are in a microcosm of supercritical pool people. For the average joe consumer the IPT is the nuts when it comes to professional pool.

I spent my $30 and I haven't even watched all the matches. Yet I feel as though I got my money's worth on the final alone. To the players and the fans the game was very real and the tension was clear. This was a $350,000 game even if the players don't get paid :-(

I would reccomend to anyone that they sign up just for the good pool. I would reccomend against it on moral grounds if they don't pay the players. I bet a ton of emails to the IPT saying just that will get them in gear.

John are you serious?

I know three people who haven't been payed. Don't you read the forum? There are others who played in the event who announce they haven't been payed. Are they lying too perhaps?

Where I went to school a sentence ending with a question mark followed by a word with a capital letter meant that one question was over and a new sentence was beginning. What onepocketchump posted was two completely separate sentences and two linked questions.Read it again as below:-

"Where is your evidence?"

"That the players haven't been paid yet? "

....... in other words....

"Is the evidence for what you said simply the fact that the players didn't get paid yet?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Speed reading can lead to mistakes as in this case where you appear to have incorrectly understood him to be saying......

"Where is your evidence that the players haven't been paid yet?"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

PS..... in English it's "paid' not "payed"
