Any one know if these balls are any good? I won a brand new set from ebay for £16 + £12 p+p.

I've watched them being used in some ipt events on tv , but i've never had a chance to play with them myself.

Just wondering peoples opinions on them.

Thanks:)

The IPT players didn't like them...they said the numbers were raised, making them roll off if hit softly. Johnnyt

Hmmm that's a bit of a shame. I wonder who's bright idea it was to have the numbers raised :/

Was looking forward to these, perhaps my best bet will be to sell them on if they are that bad.

I never saw a set in person. I'm just going by what a lot of the players said about them. Johnnyt

Also another thing i wanted to ask, does anybody know the weight of these balls? Are they the same as the aramith super pro's? It's just if i do keep them id like to use my measles CB with them.

balls are good for money

I bought a set off ebay around christmas and i like them havent noticed any roll off

They are made by the same company as Aramith and Brunswicks... Saluc. I imagine they are of that quality as well. replace the cueball with a measles ball and you got a nice looking set.

johnnyt is joking lol, the numbers arent raised at all. they're supposed to be great balls!

lol oh right..... i did think that sounded a bit odd. Im just hoping everything goes smoothly now.... i mean £16 seems a bit cheap for a new set...

Not true. Have you ever play the different range of Aramith balls? The cheap Aramith plays totally different than the Aramith Pro balls. The quality is definately not the same.

Actually, the numbers are raised, he was not kidding. If you look at the balls closly or rub them together across the numbers, the balls will stop at the raised portion. This was brought up at the IPT meetings and Kevin said they (Aramith) were working on a new set, but much like everything else in the IPT, this never happened either.

I was not joking. Some of the pro players complained at the tournaments that the numbers were raised. Again...Idon't know if it's true or not. If you look back on the IPT threads I'm sure you will find what I'm talking about. Johnnyt

ipt balls

well i have 20 new sets of ipt balls..... have weighed and measured a few sets ......they were lighter then regular super pro balls and the cue ball is bigger then the number balls but also smaller then regular super pro balls .......the number design is the same as brunswick and yes the can become raised as well as brunswick balls.......this is why i prefer the super pro over any other

I have 9 sets, have played a lot with them, but don't like them...

By the way, you should have wrote IPT balls, not IPT tour balls, since the T in IPT means Tour, so actually the name of this thread is International Pool Tour tour balls ;)

The balls came today, and in my opinion they are seexxxxyyyy!! I think looks wise the ASP's dont even compare to these.

Havnt had a chance to play with them yet mind you, fingers crossed i like them.

I played with a set of IPT balls a few days ago for about five hours. And they played like the Centennials I had played with for 15 years. The IPT balls are a cream color, similar but lighter than Centennials. The lines are blacker and better defined than Centennials and are similar to the Super Aramaith Pros style I play with now. The numbers were not raised. At least I could not detect any ridges with my finger tips and fingers are pretty sensitive. The IPT balls have a unique design that is appealing.

All in all, I like the IPT design better than either the Centennial or the Super Aramith because of their color and line definition. After about one hour of play it did not make any difference and my guess is that Centennial, Super Aramith and IPT balls are all made to the same standards by the same company with different designs. It simply doesn’t make sense, given the way that these balls are made, that ridge lines would stand out on one set and not on another. That is right up there with “Did you see that pocket move.”

I did not care for the IPT logo on the cue ball. Every once in awhile it was staring me in the face and that is disconcerting when you are playing a shot.
