IPT Tour Card 07 Qualifier

I aksed KT about this, suggesting there will likely be 65-70 card holders who don't make the top 100 money list.

My gist of what he said is that all these players will be allowed to play in the qualifier and they will just deal with the numbers according to who turns up, but he expects that just 50 or less of those 65-70 players are likely to turn up, so the numbers should work out ok.

This sounds about right to me.

Great planning there. Making a guestimate as to who may or may not show up. Sounds like he didn't have an answer for you and was just winging it.

It was clear to me that he had thought about this already.

And of course there has to be a guestimate at this stage about how many card holders would show up if invited.

I think this system is quite sensible and fair, though it does make it a bit harder on the original 150 to get through. Certainly some decent players will miss the cut and I'd expect around 10 of them to win their cards back at the big qualifier. So in the end, perhaps only around 60 of the 2006 Card holders will not make it to 2007.
