IPT Vote for Grady question

I keep as much distance as I can from the IPT but I do get over there and bump their hit count to vote for a few good guys now and then, that ploy works for them. Somehow their screen doesn't lay out right for me though with text cut off and overlaying other text. Right now I am frustrated because I can't vote for Grady in the booth. I support all of Grady's efforts and would like to support this one also but . . .

HOW THE HECK DO I VOTE ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ?

Thanks,
Hu

That happens to me as well sometimes at their site. I'm real dumb with computers, so if the kids or wife are not around to help me, I just log out and try again later. That's always worked for me.

Also, I don't have one of those 'flash" things or whatever they're called downloaded. So I think that may be one of the reasons why that messes up for me sometimes. It happens a lot more often on The Action Report site for me than it does for the IPT site. Although I'm on the T.A.R. sight way more than the IPT.

Wish I could help better. All I probably did with this response was confuse you more and waste cyberspace! :)

The voting poll that IPT is using has some SERIOUS security flaws. The results shown in no way reflect the actual voting.

The IPT poll records previous voters by using a cookie (instead of unique IP) that can be deleted from the browser by the user. This results in the user being able to vote as many times as they wish.

There is currently someone running a script on the poll that allows the user to vote for example 10,000 times for their choice in just a few minutes. If this person wanted, they could move any of the candidates to a winning percentage.

Thanks for the info

I never took the votes too seriously since it was obvious that the polls were loaded but I have been curious about some of the odd standings. Interesting that clearing cookies will let you vote again and more interesting that someone can run a script and absolutely hammer them.

Back when the internet was much younger I used to enjoy hammering the "one vote" polls that were terribly biased sorta like this:

Choose one:

A: Those terrible guns that kill children and innocent animals and are the cause of all of the evil in the world should only be in the hands of the police and soldiers.

B. I like those terrible guns and support the killing of children and innocent animals and I think that gang members and felons should have free access to automatic weapons.

I'd clue in some friends on a large hunting board and we would blow out the poll in favor of "B" voting many times each. :D :D :D Several sites gave up on polls largely because of me.

Still have to figure out how to vote for Grady. Maybe changing resolution but mine isn't set real high now.

Last night at 11:30 pm, Loree Jon had 47% and Grady had 49% and then 5 minutes later, Loree Jon was back down to 30% and Grady was way out front again.

Musta been some hanging chads and a recount! :D :D :D :D

I gotta see if I can find the picture of the guy going cross-eyed looking at the chad. Seems like it is gonna be decades before anyone forgets about Florida and the vote counts, recounts, cross counts, miss counts, unrecounts, . . . .

I don't know . . .

Billy and (name goes here) are the best commentary team in Billiards. IMO.

I don't know about the best but the most fun might be when TAR gets a bunch in the booth half lit and cutting up. Grady is great though and he is on the list to vote for. Hopefully he will be there to do the talking.
