Would anyone care to share ideas on a tool to apply feed tension to linen while manually re-wrapping a cue ?

I was able to score a pair of large deepsea fishing reels cheap. I guess medium sized for deep sea reels but I can easily put spools of string on them. You can set the drag to anything you want it to be.

I slip the linen through a short piece of latex tube and hold the piece of tube in my hand and press it to create a drag on the line.

I use a piece of hard leather to create some drag.

My hands are pretty tough, I just move the string around a bit as heat builds up from squeezing it.

I use an old penn bait caster reel and set the drag. It works perfect
