Ironwood ???

@masonh

If i understood correctly, I think you mixed up a few things pretty badly

I'm not a cuemaker myself, but just a mere customer; and don't come from russia, but from austria.

But I do use a hornbeam shaft, made by DBK, who is a cuemaker and who is from russia.

And I think he uses russian hornbeam. I've never heard of it being referred to as "ironwood" though

sorry for the mix up.i guess you own the cue and the Russian made it.actually i was fairly close for my memory.

Although Dmitry answers all your questions for sure, try google translate on his site before he'll do it. And check threads he started here. I am another one playing the cue with the hornbeam shaft made by Dmitry.
ps Forget to say: you all know for sure Yevgeny Stalev. He plays the butterfly cue made by Efremov.

Pretty cool stuff, huh? I'd be interested in knowing, too.

I think he's English is not that strong .. if I recall correctly, he uses a translation software to post in English here.

But there are some interesting designs from Russia.

Sorry, I prepare with business trip now but could not leave without the answer these questions.

I read English not bad but to write much more difficultly. Therefore I use the electronic dictionary, you have correctly noticed. Sorry.:)

Hi Jerry,

Short about me-

1982 - the graduate of institute
1988 - I have finished the dissertation, the master of technical of sciences
1989 - with my friends has opened computer firm in which has worked 5 years as director.
Then there was work executive director of joint venture, then the private financial adviser. So down to 1998 when in Russia financial crisis was.
With cue-building and repair I has met in 1995 or 96. Then it was very quite good rest and a hobby. I was free from problems and weariness with this hobby. But after crisis 98 I have decided to work completely only on cue-building and I do not regret about this decision till now. Specially I did not study anywhere. Self-education and experience only. In 2002 has tried to make the first pool cues. I liked the process and started to study procedure more deeply. A part of the pool cues is submitted on my site in gallery, the last cues I showed here on AZ.
Here I have made the small review of the pool cues which were remembered for me most of all.
