I don't agree with one of your points. The one I bolded. There would have never been much of a problem in NPR if the rules had been
enforced and that was it. We have a small group of guys that constantly cross the line with personal attacks. When they are reported
(which will happen eventually after they have an attack party on people), the result was to shut down all political discussion which wasn't
fair to the rest of us that were having real discussion and minding our manners.
The rule breakers were basically let to run the place because this site is a one man show.
A former moderator burned out any trust the owner has for having any moderator that has time to take care of the small issues and actually
enforce the rules. The rules here are fine. They just need to be used for what they were intended and have some staff to do that.
Do that one thing and the problem is solved. People don't like not being able to discuss things on a discussion forum.
Pool is not the only subject Pool Players discuss. With corona kicking up like it is, we need other things to talk about besides
a game we learned to play as teenagers that some of us don't feel like playing in public during this virus.
The latest trend is just delete the conversations. I see its now moved to the main as well and I guess people don't like it anymore
than we do in NPR. We attempt to talk about other things but there's only so much left when the news is the news. Free speech
is something people hold dear but there is a difference in free speech and hateful garbage directed at someone personally. That is
what rules are for.
Your post was awesome and I agree that it was all in fun. Apparently some Karen has decided humor or sarcasm about any govt decisions is taboo. Someone has taken the issue of how much the NPR forum sucks too far when it comes to regular discussions in other forums. Might be because too many azzholes spend all day in there accomplishing nothing.
I've tried to be a decent member here and paid to support the site but cancelling innocent posts isn't gonna fly. Especially when people like Justin keep joining after years of bans and trolling. For free.
Indiscriminate moderation is sign of a troubled forum.
