Hi all,
I have a cue I got in 1968. It which was a used cue when I got it. It is still straight as an arrow and has been my player since then. It has a figured rosewood butt that appears to be solid and runs from the brass joint to the 1" wide mother-of-pearl butt cap. The end of the butt has a hard plastic disk then a rubber bumper. It has a green and black linen wrap still in very good condition. The only mark, I can find is the letter H on the rubber bumper, which was formed when the rubber piece was cast. In other words, the mold had to have the letter H engraved in it. Any ideas who might have made this cue?

Not a huebler

If you got it in the 60s its not a Huebler
I would like to see a pic though

When was huebler making cues? I will try to put a photo on this site but it might be while since I've never put a photo on any site. I use a 1975 nikon and a 1940s 4x5 meridian. Great pictures but won't cut it for transfer to digital. Maybe I can get my hands on a friend's digital camera.
 
Look up Rich Cues on google.. They have some of Abe's cues on different sites and the buttcap you are describing sounds like it may be one of his.. Without pictures that's of course only a guess.... It could also be a paradise or old palmer...... The joint and dimensions will lead someone in the right direction....
 
Huebler cue?

Here are butt dimensions someone asked for:
The threaded screw, in the butt collar, that screws into the brass fitting in the shaft is .314 above the top of the brass butt collar
The brass butt collar is .836 Dia X 1" Long
Black phenolic ring just below the brass butt collar is .546 long
Forearm is 9.125 Long
Wrap grip is 14.625 long
butt sleeve is 2.425 long
MOP butt cap is .750 long x 1.275Dia
Hard plastic disk is .2 long
Rubber bumper is .5 long
Total butt length including rubber bumper = 29.171"
Hope this helps in cue indentification.
I also spent time on Rich Cues and didn't find a match.

henrylr...I've seen a zillion Huebler cues (and owned a few too). Never seen one with a brass joint...which means exactly nothing. Most had linen joints, and were flatfaced, wood to wood. Also have never even heard of a Huebler with an MOP (or even 'plasticized' MOP) butt cap...they were all white or black. They did have brass inserts in the shaft though, and brass joint screws.
