Is it possible to clean all of the dirt off of a shaft without sanding it?

Don't believe me there Doc.

Instead of an expensive bottle of Cue Silk, try a bottle of Pantene.

How about any bottle of white creme cleaner with pumice in it.
Go to the Dollar Store and get a bottle of Vim.

I was being serious. I do agree with you. There is no magic elixir...it's just different mixtures of generally well known stuff I think.

But somebody else did the experimenting first...I know I certainly don't have the time, nor enough shafts to risk, to do that kind of experimenting.

But I do play around with a little experimenting occasionally.

Maybe I picked the wrong smiley?

How about this one:

I haven't read this whole thread but my advice is take your cue to a cue maker who has a lathe. They can clean it up real good and take out any dings.

I've been using the magic eraser since the summer. Cleans better than anything other than using a lathe. Problem is, I'm positive the stuff takes off the sealant. When that happens you'll be stuck cleaning the shaft 3X's more than you'd normally have to.
