Is Shanelle Loraine one of the best?

I haven't seen her play in a while, so maybe I have missed her rise to the the top. In this article she is described as both a "top talent" and one of "the world's best players". Have I missed something?

Not a top player by a long shot. I'd be curious to know what a player like Kelly Fisher, Allison Fisher, Jasmin Ouschan, etc could spot her in a money set. I'm guessing the 6 ball if the set is long enough.

While you may give her intelligence, looks and personality glowing reviews, do those qualities really warrant a spot on the bracket in a world class event? There are plenty of beautiful, well-spoken, intelligent and talented women who have already paid their dues and proven themselves in this sport. How many of them were offered and turned down Shanelle's spot before she accepted it?

Your statement makes absolutely no sense, from the perspective of Dragon Promotions.

Other than that, spot on!

Though I would rather look at her than me 8/7 days a week.

The truth about Shanelle

Shanelle is stunningly beautiful, but if you were to ask the people who know her well to rank her attributes, her looks would come in a distant second to her personality. She is one of the nicest people you could ever want to meet.

Playing ability: She's probaly not going to crack the top 20 on the Womens Tour anytime soon, but she is constantly working to improve her game. I set up a Gold Crown in her apartment about 18 months ago which has given her a lot more time to work on her game.

Guam: Saying that she is from Guam adds to her allure I suppose. I think she might be able to find Guam on a map, but I'm not sure.

Spokeswoman: Shanelle received a contract a couple of years ago to be a Rep for a certain cue company. That caused some flack from some people in the industry because they felt some of the women of the Tour who played better were more deserving. Here's what I say about that. If I owned a company that made cat-skinning knives, I wouldn't care if she had never skinned a cat in her life. She would be my first choice for a Rep.

PS: Just so there is no misunderstanding, I have never heard her say that she is from Guam, that comes from DP.

Beauty=sales. Living in LA you see it all the time during the night-life. 9 out of 10 bartenders are very good looking women. It doesn't mean they make the best drinks but you can bet lonely shy guys are drinking them a little quicker than usual to get another up-close look at them.

I also might assume that the event mentioned above only drives her to continually improve her game. Sort of like a chip on her shoulder to show that she's not just a pretty face.

Jay, it's great hearing that she has an awesome personality. Too many pretty faces, more so in LA, develop ugly personalities.

You can say that again!

I've never bought anything because of the person endorsing it . I'm suspect of someone who starts endorsing a product because they are now being paid to do so . When a pool player has been using a brand x cue and then all of a sudden turns around and starts using another brand because they are paying them , that doesn't look good to me.

It makes their endorsement of no effect , worthless . Maybe she was a spokesmodel and not being portrayed as a top player by the cue company . Another pretty good but not top tier woman player was being helped out by Poison cues i think .

If you play for the Yankees and your a mediocre player you still get endorsements , Nick Swisher was doing a commercial the other day , he isn't a top tier player. Joe Girardi was doing a commercial also , by virtue of the fact that he was the Yankees manager.

Gabe Kapler was in the early part of his rookie year with the Tigers and hadn't accomplished a thing , but recieved an endorsement contract from K-Swiss , wonder why ? They don't make baseball cleats .

It like the weather gal on the TV (pick a station). She's not slected for here meteorologists skills. That can be gotten from the internet. It's all about delivery, personality and good looks. From there you either become Barbra Walters or last week's pretty face.

All BS aside...great guns.

I met Shanelle at one of the Predator pool schools, and at a tournament several months after that. IMO, she is drop dead gorgeous, in my limited time around her she was extremely polite, easy to talk to, and had a great personality. She is not a world class pool player, but as others have said she loves to play and is constantly improving. It certainly can't hurt to have people like her, or Jeanette, or Jasmin, or many others be ambassadors for the sport.
