They both have mediocre mental games.
And they're not very good shot makers either

What I mean is they get rattled easily, or more so than those that actually have really strong mental games.
Just messin with ya:grin:

If we go back four month ago Shane was fourth on the money list..After a little soul searching Shane decided that it wasn't the money but competing against the best that drives him to keep working hard. I believe he sets goals like keeping the US open trophy on US soil. now that Shane has won three US opens, 8-ball, 9-ball and ten-ball all this year and I believe Jayson was present at all three. Shane gets my vote for Player of theYear. plus another money title.
Jayson is a friend and he's the hottest player on the planet right now, but the best living on American soil ---- surely you jest.
Shane has won at least one of each of the following titles:
US Open's 8-ball
US Open 9-ball
US Open 10-ball
US Bar Table Championship
World Pool Masters
World Cup of Pool
Turning Stone Classic
Derby City 9-ball
Derby City 10-ball (Bigfoot)
Derby City 1-pocket
Shane has come second at least once in each of these:
World 9-ball
World 14.1 Championship
Derby City Banks
Of all of these, Jayson Shaw has won just the Turning Stone Classic and has been runner-up in the Derby City banks. In fairness, however, Jayson gets a lot of credit for his win at WPA Kuwait.
When Jayson starts collecting major titles the way Shane has, maybe we can open the discussion again, but Shane is the best player residing on American soil by a country mile.
Ken Shuman said it best during the just-completed Make It Happen event. In the player introductions when Jayson played Shane, Ken noted Jayson is having a great year, but further noted that Shane has a great year every year! That's about the size of it.
The guesion is about right this second know more just after I posted this John Morra said right know Shaw is playing better than anyone in the world ,
